Advance Parole Fear 😨 of Overstay

Hello everyone I filled in Chicago for my green card through marriage and got my EAD combo card September of 2018 and still awaiting my interview. I want to travel abroad for work for only 14days and stop to see my 4years old daughter and even though  I have my Advance parole which serves for multiple entry im still scared of being denied entry on my return since I overstayed my visa before filling, and I have no criminal record or whatsoever. Please advice me on what to do 🙏🏾

my thoughts to you is to do what gives you peace of mind. The fact of the matter is based on what you’re telling us here, you reasonably have nothing to fear concerning being denied entry back into the USA. The days of being denied reentry in advance parole due to a previous overstay are over. The rules were changed in 2011.

 

However no matter how much we reassure you, if you know you’re still going to be worry and be scared, don’t do it. You’re the only one who knows yourself best.

 

I wish you the best, no matter how you decide.

Well I'd you're scared don't go. But advanced parole is designed to let you back in after travel.

Enjoy your trip.  With a valid AP document, you will almost certainly experience no issues related to reentry.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I came back on AP last August and had no issues whatsoever
