We are still in the process of K1, but I wanted to be ahead of the game financially when it comes to the AOS part. I sent his assistant an e-mail stating the following:

(Attorney) informed me that after (Beneficiary) arrives in the U.S. we will HAVE to file a I-130, but according to the USCIS website this is NOT the case. Please advise why I was told incorrect information. Thank you.

Your attorney is an idiot.  Fire him.

Did you get married within the 90 days after your K-1 entry into the US?

The ONLY reason you would need the I-130 is if you married after the 90 days.

NOT EVERY K-1 HAS TO FILE AN I-130.  ONLY THOSE WHO MARRY AFTER THE 90 DAYS WOULD NEED THE I-130.

This. If you married within the 90 days you don't need I-130. You can file everything yourself. This forum has guides and resources for you.

Real lawyers.  Not the hack that you hired.

Their AoS only took eight months? That's pretty good, even with 3 RFE's.

I think that too! Jeez Las Vegas FO is roughly 15-24.5 months processing for AOS! I'd be delighted with 8 months personally-i'm looking hopefully early 2020 (if I'm lucky). 3 RFE's no fun though!!

Shockingly, many immigration lawyers don’t seem to understand how the fiancé visa works. I’d fire him and save some $$ by doing this yourself. Unless you have a very complicated case, you really don’t need a lawyer for this.

I would do it yourself. I just finished a final review of all my AOS forms, and have them ready to print, then sign, then mail off as soon as we get married and have the Marriage certificate. I was able to take just about everything I needed from my I129F filing as I had 2 extra full printed copies, and then have just added everything else that is current. I was worried about all the forms, but I only have about 3 hours into it tonight, and I have everything ready to go. They are all saved in PDF form so I am sure I will review them a dozen more times before I even print them ( I think I have a complex. LOL), but the thousands of dollars I have saved with no attorney has been very helpful since my fiancee is here with me now and I am supporting an extra person. I have her enrolled in a trade school ( Starts this Monday 1/21/19) and with that and all the extra English lessons ( She is now just about fluent) there are expenses on the way for you.

I read the one post that says Vegas is  15-24.5 months for AOS, and that really was a smack to the face, but it is what it is, just file and move on. I hope she has her AP/EAD card in about 5-6 months when she gets finished with school and her license, because she already has a job offer on the table as soon as she is licensed in Nevada. I may still request an expedite for the EAD, but should have it by graduation time.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

My attorney said I need to file an I-130 after we get married along with the I-485 to adjust status... is this true? Seems like a double fee for no reason.

Fire him and adjust status yourself.  We’ll help you (after you’ve read the guides and pass the pop quizzes)

It's insane how many times I've seen cases of disinfo being spread by attorneys here on VJ. I agree with @C32, if your case is not complicated (i.e. involves criminal records or other such legal issues), DIY is the way to go...lawyers can't scan and prepare all your evidence documentation needed in this process, you'll have to do that by yourself anyhow. So, even with a lawyer, you'll end up doing most of the work, it's not that difficult to fill out the forms, VJ has guides and examples and the forums here are great for clarifying any questions about that.
