Leave US under my country’s passport after naturalization

Will it cause a problem if I leave US under my country’s passport after naturalization? I'll apply a US passport immediately after the ceremony but may need to leave soon. I'm thinking to ask my friend to ship my passport to my country and come back with it. If I don't have a departure record under the US passport, will there be any issues?

You can apply for passport at  PP agency and can get it in one day( with extra fees). You can use your home country PP to leave, but it not recommend since you're already US Citizens. US Citizens need to leave and enter US with US passport.

But what's your plan B if the shipped US passport doesn't make it to you?

I'm not sure if you are close to a passport agency or it is even an option for you (my husband went to Minneapolis for his), but my husband went--the day after naturalization--to the passport agency, waited that day while expediting his passport and got it the same day.  So, naturalized September 26...passport on September 27.

No exit passport controls, so "leaving with a US passport" is not applicable.

Go to a passport agency with your travel itinerary and they will be able to issue a passport the same day. I think you must leave the next day so they can issue a passport on the same day. If you’re not leaving the next day, your passport will be ready the following day. Philadelphia has a passport agency that does this ( I’m not sure if all do this).

One of the great things about the US Dept. of State is the way you can get a passport the same day or within 24 hours if you can show your travel itinerary and proof of citizenship, through a passport agency.  In many countries, this sort of expedite service is not available.  My husband in Brazil applied for his passport in November and it takes at least three months, no expedite option even with a travel itinerary.  Because of this he had to cancel a planned trip to meet me in Canada in February.  So despite our very long US immigration process, at least passport service for US citizens can be as fast as you want it to be.

When I renew my Brazilian passport at the consulate it's ready within an hour.

Yes, renewal of a passport at an overseas Brazilian consulate is fast.  My husband is getting his first passport, in Brazil.  That is what is taking so very long, not a renewal within the US.

I read somewhere on USCIS Citizen documents (there are tons of them, it was about dual citizenship rules) that is a LAW to leave and enter the USA with only US passport since you become a citizen. 

Please, check, better safe than sorry.

Thank you all for the information. Someone told me about online express passport service but it seemed still 4-5 days since I need to ship documents to them and receive.

 

If I can directly go to the passport agency directly, I'll try that way.

NY wouldn't give my husband his the same day because he wasn't traveling within 24 hours, but did have it ready on the following day. His itinerary showed he was traveling in 6 days.
