Hi, my fiance who is my petitioner has some charges and a few convictions, some for domestic violence, can someone please tell me how do we proceed for the k1 visa.

You should proceed with caution

All you can do is disclose everything on the I129F and then take all the official court documents about the charges and how they were resolved to the interview to be prepared for questions about it.  If you don't disclose then it can cause problems, even a denial, for being untruthful.  Everything will come out in the background checks they will do.  Ultimately, it will be up to the IO to make a decision based on all the information submitted with the I129F.  Good luck!

Ok, Thank you.

If it is not disclosed then it WILL BE DENIED unfortunately. There is a well known poster on here who had a charge from the early 80's that he was told by RapidVisa to "Not disclose it" and his now wife was denied at the interview for a K1. So now they are going the CR1 route.

I understand, we will disclose everything, thank you.

I dont want you to reply to this

What I'd be asking myself is how long have i known this person? How long have I spent with this person? Have I lived with this person for a good amount of time to confirm he unlikely to commit domestic violence to me?

You hear about couples that go through this process, start living together for a good amount of time and everything changes in their relationship. It would be especially difficult for someone coming to the US alone if you have no friend and family network there.

I've never been in an abusive relationship but I know people that have been and it's so sad. You never hear about it when it's going on, only at the end.

I'm sorry but I have to reply because you are judging the most wonderful man I know.

Thank you for your concern, but I don't need it, I don't intend you to understand this but my fiancé had a complicated life in the past, today we are both Christians so our lives have changed a lot, especially it changed radically the life of my fiancé, so my confidence first it's in God, and I am completely sure that I have found the love of my life ... and my question on this site was to help me with my paperwork. Thank you but don't judge if you don't know the circumstances.

Woaw, grow up! I wasn’t judging anyone. I didn’t pass judgement on anyone.

Now I am judging you and you’re cray cray

Edit: Good Luck
