You will walk out of the Embassy with the paper you need.

My fiance had another question.. she knows that are 10 days taking both of our paperwork to the town municipality for marriage. She was wondering are there anybody at the US Embassy that takes care of our marriage together?

We got married in Manila last June.  There is a 10 day waiting period before the license becomes active.  After that you have 120 days to get married.  Make sure you ask the registrar to expedite the PSA marriage Certificate.  That is what you will need for the petition.  There is no other need for the embassy to get involved until you are ready to interview.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

As a USC, I had to go to the Embassy for the "Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage".  That is a 2 hour visit to the US Embassy but it does require an appointment.

That is all I needed from the Embassy.  From there we applied for the marriage license.  There is a 10 day period where they put the marriage announcement in the paper and people have an opportunity to challenge the wedding.  After 10 days the license becomes active and will remain active for 120 days.

When you get married you sign a lot of papers.  Ask the registrar to expedite the paperwork with PSA.  Once you have the PSA marriage certificate you can file the CR-1.  You do not need to do anything more with the embassy to let them know you are married.

You DO need to make an appointment and they are weeks out.  You do that online before you go to Manila and plan the trip around that.
