Background.. K1 still waiting for noa2

My fiance and i were just checking air tickets and it seems that roundtrip ticket is cheaper than 1 way..

Ok so.. The problem lies on, my fiance plans to come ang get me.. Hopefully on the date we expected.. So we were checking those dates.. So ticket would be usa - singapore then singapore to usa...

So can i get the same ticket? Which means i wont be using the usa to Singapore... Will this be ok.. We are just gonna cancel the usa to Singapore (for me) when the date gets closer..

Thank you all in advance and i hope i explained clearly to get the advice and thoughts that i need..

As I recall we also did this.  No consequences, just called and cancelled a couple of days before the “return”

My instinct on this is likely a no but based on what you said- the difference for me lies in where the first flight originates.

I.e. If the FIRST leg is USA to Singapore then likely a NO because if you miss your first flight its considered abandonment of travel and they wont let you keep the return leg. The flights are generally cheaper return for a reason unfortunately.

If the FIRST leg is Singapore to USA then you will be fine- you don't need to use return leg.

Best to check with the airline though to be honest.

Also, don't forget to cancel your other flight (if the flight you're getting on is the first flight, otherwise it won't be possible with almost any airline). If you don't cancel, it can happen that USCIS thinks you departed the country while waiting for AOS and it can be kind of a hassle to proof you weren't (it surely doesn't happen to many people, but better safe then sorry right?)

No problem- Good luck with the K1 final stages, it's exciting to be planning the travel side of things. Airlines can be tricky and expensive!

Just remember to enjoy those moments- the paperwork continues once you get here! 😂

Then it's usually not possible since, like someone else already said, the airline sees it as an abandoned flight and they'll cancel your return ticket. But check with your airline to be 100% sure.

You cannot skip the first leg of any flight. skip the 1st leg means all other flights are cancelled.

I dont know why..  but Return ticket from USA to Asia is always cheaper than asia  to USA.

Its not? The reason why you wanna buy ticket route USA-SIN-USA because  flight cost is cheaper than route SIN-USA-SIN right?

if you find any flight SIN-USA-SIN that cheaper than SIN-USA (one way) only,   you can buy it and cancel the 2nd leg (the return) after arrival in USA.
