Hey there, does anyone have advice because my fiance recieved a 221g asking to submit more evidence. I don't know how we submit it....what to submit or how long it takes. We already brought them pretty much everything we had but they don't even check! Plus, isn't it strange that the paper says "marriage based visas" and is asking of photos "before and after the wedding" when we are ENGAGED! Soo confused. I don't know what to even submit. Might have to fly all the way over there :(.

Sorry to hear that but dont worry they are not asking about the wedding pics , as you said you have done engagement right you have pictures of your engagement ceremony where your family and your fiance and your friends are there . They want to just check whether your relationship is true or not if you have exchange money show them money receipts , gifts , card exchanged , letters pics togther , call logs screen shot even for  chats screen shot they want proof where it shows that your relationship is genuine .

In my case i took all the proofs cards exchanged money receipts chat shots call log shots her intenary copies boarding passes  courier receipts where senders address and receiver address is there even if you have received gifts  from fiance from US the front page of courier packet will work as proof bcz that will have your and fiance in us both address so if you have these things go get it and took my engagement album for interview which they saw it as well .

note: this 221g is given for

spouse visa too thats why they have mention wedding before and after pics dont get confused , just collect these proofs and submit it .

Yes, I did suspect that they use this 221 for apouse and fiance but still I don't know what to submit because my fiance spent days printing literally everything we have and we gave them hundreds of papers. Shall i give them the same thing again

RFE's are simple. You give them what they want. No more and no less. Read the RFE carefully and then provide ONLY what they are asking for. Follow the instructions on how to return the requested documents.

Whatever they have mentioned in 221g submit that , the more proofs you will provide they be satisfied but it should be genuine .

Be careful about submitting photos of an "engagement ceremony."  Make sure they are only of the two of you in regular clothing, NOT exchanging rings.  If the photos of an engagement ceremony look a lot like a wedding ceremony, it could cause more problems if the CO thinks you are "too married for a K1."  I would suggest that you not submit any photos of an engagement ceremony, just give them exactly what they are asking for--photos of the two of you together, and evidence of ongoing communication between the two of you.

Wow, Im so nervous and feel so stupid because when I went there we were not thinking about collecting evidence and we hardly took any pictures besides that engagement pictures. I think it's because we spend hours on the phone everyday with eachother that we didn't want to touch our phones when we were together.

We see this this often here on VJ.  The couple or fiance brings lots of evidence to the interview but they don't want to look at it, then they ask for the same evidence with a 221g.  So select and submit according to the instructions on how to do it, exactly what they are asking for, no more, no less.  From the 221g you sent you should submit some photos of the two of you together, but select photos that do NOT show exchanging rings, dressed in wedding-like clothing, or anything that would suggest a "marriage."  And also submit examples or chat logs of conversations.  That's all they asked for, so send it and you should be fine.

So sorry for you dear, I can't believe it either, I do know alot of people on here who got their approval after their 221g but I don't know how long it took. I think the interview is staged and they give 221g so they have more time for processing. Pray that we don't have to wait much longer.

@carmel34, my fiancé put a ring when we last met & it was at home in casual wear. I did provide 1-2 pictures of that for my I-129 f too. Now I’m stressing abt it. But anyone who knows indian culture would understand it wasn’t a marriage as I am not wearing any wedding dress. Also we were not legally permitted to marry then anyways as I didn’t had my divorce decree then. But why would the CO worry abt it if for a k1 visa to be valid the couple has to get married in US anyways ... so confusing

I hope you will be okay at the interview.  Just be upfront about everything.  The CO will know all about your culture, traditions, so maybe all will be well.  Good thing you had regular clothing.  That will help a lot.  No wedding dress will make it easier.  Good luck with the interview.  I hope you are together soon!
