Can i take my wife and son with me to the cr1 interview ?

Hey guys,

 

i’m waiting for my cr1 visa interview , as stated in the topic, my wife and son ( both are US citizens ) are currently living with me abroad. Is it possible to have them with me during the interview ? TBH, I always feel relief with they are around me.

 

another question, in general, how helpful is it to have a child together ? Does it make my application strength ? ( i’m asking in general cases even if my family don’t attend the interview )

Where is it?  I always attended my wife’s interviews with the kids.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that your spouse and kids can accompany you.  Make sure they bring their passports along.  She can join you at the immigration window even.  They’ll probably want to talk to her more than you if she’s been living over there with you to go over her plans to move back to the US and the I-864 affidavit.  

Riyadh never gave my wife (non-USC) a hard time.  As long as all of your documents are in order they are very helpful and the process is very smooth.

i know it’s easy interview but i’m really nervous lol

Having a child together does not strengthen or weaken a case, imo.......Almost any 2 people can biologically create a child...but that does not prove a bona fide marriage.

We’ve been through the IV interview process twice in Riyadh, and he’s never asked us anything personal or difficult or tried to trip us up.  He asked (me not her lol) a lot of questions about when you plan to leave for the US, what are your plans when you get there, what will your living arrangements be, things like that.  I dont recall anything about how we met or specifically about our marriage or anything like that but he did go through our original documents for his file.  

Just relax, prepare to describe your future plans, and you’ll be fine.

Thats why I answered.  Because we interviewed in Riyadh 3x and I always attended the interviews with my wife and kids.  Thanks for your input though.

Why did you have to go to interview 3 times there? Isn't that a little excessive? Just curious....
