I heard that Kiev is an easy embassy, I'm just overthinking everything. I'm assuming that somehow they would know that I didn't file previous years so I'm freaking out 😪

You are overthinking it and Kyiv is an easy embassy.  Just bring a few recent W2's, if you can get an earings statement from your employer, savings and 401K and brokerage balances and that will be more than enough.

My timeline says I should expect NOA2 on Feb 16. You think it would take  2 months for case to go to NVC, to Kiev, and then for us to get an interview ?

You should be less than 2 months assuming no issues.

For tax returns, don't those have to be certified by the IRS? Also, I believe it mentions a tax return OR a W-2.

Wouldn't a W-2 suffice as well? Do folks still get a physical W-2 form from their employers?

It says tax transcripts and w-2. I get an electronic W-2,  because I signed up for “paperless”

Which you can print.  You get tax return transcripts (which are currently unavailable) OR the entire tax return including w2 and all schedules.

The instructions actually says latest  tax return (not transcripts, but transcripts serve the same purpose) and/OR w2.  Read carefully there is an OR and what the OR is referring to

The electronic w2 means electronic DELIVERY.  All you need to do is PRINT and poof you have your w2 on paper.

If I file 2018 tax returns soon, I'm assuming those would suffice ?

The forms are available online but there is still no one in IRS offices to process them

Then if your W2 shows sufficient income then you are ready, set, go

Really?  See below as this is a snippet directly from the K-1 checklist.

Let me break it down for you what #14 says.

1) Latest ore most recent tax return

2) Latest or most recent tax return with W2

3) Latest or most recent W2

Oh I was looking at the check list on the Uscis website, under the I-134 form. It mentions tax transcripts 🤷🏼‍♀️

When a consul does not provide specific information, then your only option is to default back to the form instructions.  In your situation, Kyiv has a specific checklist that specifically addresses this situation and that is the information you follow.

There is more detailed description for Ukraine specifically with regards to I-134.

Seems like they are really not picky as long as you have something. Can't be just be I-134 by itself.

I think she is asking how approved 129F gets forwarded to NVC and to embassies. I am pretty sure it is combination of both physical and electronic. The Trump's shutdown will probably slow down things some even if doesn't affect USCIS directly, clearly it does affect other things, like those tax returns, TSA, DHS, etc etc.

Do you already have your certified copies of tax returns or tax transcripts? I'd hate to risk taking copies of returns, w-2s, etc to the embassy only to be denied for such a little thing as the returns not being certified.

Thanks!
