Vegas trip planned but my greencard is expired, in ROC process

My wife and i want to go to Las Vegas next month. I have an expired greencard with the 'I751 18 month extension letter' and a valid Dutch passport. Im in the process of removing the conditions on my greencard.

 

Which one do i need to fly from Oregon to Nevada? Do i show them my passport or greencard? Or doesnt it matter which one i use?

I'd assume you only need your state ID since you are not leaving the country.

No. I dont drive yet because of anxiety issues since having a car accident few years ago.

you could have gotten a state issued ID, but why not take in the view, and jump in the car with your wife and drive it?

I never saw the point of getting a state issued ID when i have a greencard.

 

We already did a road trip to vegas last year. We only have a few days this time so we have to fly.

 

I do have an extension letter. Is that enough?

yes, make sure you have both the expired green card and extension letter, to be safe you can also take your unexpired passport.

 

I know many have flown and returned with expired green card as long as they have the extension letter with them.

 

you will be fine, but you might want to think about getting at least a state issued ID

If your passport is not expired, just use that. Don't make it more complicated by showing an expired green card and extension letter.

Just use the unexpired foreign passport.

Your passport is sufficient for you to fly.  You are flying domestic, so you don't need a green card or extension letter.

As far as ID for travel, use your unexpired foreign passport.

As an LPR, you are required to have proof of status on you at all times, so bring the expired GC and extension letter too.

You don't need proof of PR status to fly domestically. Just valid passport.

No but by law LPR are required to keep proof of their status on their person.

I’d just get a State ID to avoid all this Passport/ expired GC issue. How long does it take to get one? A week. And all you need to show is your ID
