Sad news for me. I'm afraid I'm not getting the EAD before Jan 14th. I may lose my job offer. Worst Xmas of my life.

I’m worried about my package which was supposed to be delivered to the Chicago lockbox facility by 10:30am yesterday (Friday) but UPS just failed (I’m using next day air, so the delivery by 10:30am next day is guaranteed). Instead, the ups tracking web shows that the package now is out for delivery on Saturday by end of day . I’m concerned that including today’s attempt to deliver together with those on Monday and Tuesday, UPS will use out all THREE attempts of delivery, and then the package will be sent back to me after sitting in the closest UPS office for 5 business days. Will that be the case? Or should I call UPS to stop the delivery on Monday and Tuesday so that they still will have two attempts left?

I remember there was a shutdown around the time my husband mailed the I-130 to whichever lockbox it was in 2013 and there were no hiccups with it or our application. As for the Christmas holidays, it's frustrating when you're waiting a long indeterminate amount of time and then there's two more days on top of that. I do sympathise having been through it before. However, as others have said, USCIS employees have families and have days off like most office staff so it makes sense and is a good thing to let them have this time. Overworked employees leads to crappy work production.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

August 1st. Been waiting and waiting. Got job offer way back on 7th Nov, got it expedited twice, but the EAD is nowhere to be found. I'm devastating. Some people having PD way after me but already got their card.

I just wish they are more transparent about the whole process. And why do they even pay salary for the customer service (aka tier 1 officer) who do nothing but repeat information on the website?

Wow. That is ridiculous. I am so sorry. Just hang in there. This will all be over soon. Relax and keep the focus on the love. You will still get this all worked out and someday you will laugh at this.

I agree what you said. My anger is pointing to the UPS, charging me a higher rate for the service they could not complete. If they simply told me they cannot do the next day shipping due to the high volume workload (what I was told after knowing the delay and calling them ), I will hold the and send it out after Christmas. Now if they use out the three attempts then package will not immediately come back to me. It will sit in their office for another week!

Is there anyone can tell me if the USCIS lockbox is just a post office lockbox so that it doesn’t matter whether USCIS are having holiday off or not? And applications are just dropped off to the lockbox and they will start collecting the files after they return from Christmas holiday? If that is the case then ups can deliver my package today and I will be worry free.

If you sent it UPS to the street address they should be there today to accept the package. If not today they will get it Wednesday. A couple days delay at the front won’t really mean much at the end. You are good. Relax and it will all be good.

The lockbox is just a place where the checks are removed and the petitions are forwarded. By USPS it is just a PO Box. For UPS it is a street address but all they do is take the cash and send it on.
