A few spots opened this week (and were taken almost immediately). We didn't have everything ready so weren't in a position to snatch one yet. Hoping for the next set.

Good morning. You said few spots will be open this week ? Because I have been checking since November 30th and no slots open at all. When will be open this Monday???

I said that (at least according to what Anastasia is telling me) a few interview dates were available (and immediately taken) late last week; the dates were in January.

I have no idea when the next set of dates will be available. However, the Moscow embassy will be closed for Russian official holidays from Dec 31 through Jan 8 ( https://ru.usembassy.gov/u-s-consular-posts-in-russia-will-be-closed-december-31-2018-through-january-8-2019/ ), so it would be surprising if any more interview dates become available before Jan 9.

She didn't (because we didn't have everything complete yet); others in her group did reported open spots (and took them).

Check Russian-language forums for WhatsApp groups; there are at least two out there.

It's apparently pretty difficult to find interview spots in Moscow on your own right now; they're taken very quickly after opening up, so if you aren't online at the right time, you'll miss it.

Dan - I think it would be easier if you provide Dave your number, and ask Dave to ask his fiancee to ask the leader of the group to add your fiancee (whomever the Russian is). That is how we did it. They don't just add people. You have to have your NVC number assigned already so they may ask your fiancee a couple questions before they add her.

Hey everyone! I wonder if there is gonna be a problem if there are no dates avaliable until the approved petition expires? Will I still be able to make an apppointment or we will have to refile our petition? I am really worried about this, especially considering what is going on in the Embassy now. Does the consular officer has a right to prolong it due to these circumstances?

Thanks

You can ask the embassy to extend your petition; they may do this automatically, but I'd confirm with them yourself if it's getting close to your petition's expiration and you don't have a spot yet.

According to Anastasia's group, this was done automatically last week for several people whose petitions were expiring in/near December.

The consulates can extend petition validity for 4-month periods for up to a year.  They tend to do this automatically, but it's best to ask for it.  Of course, save their confirmation.

For crying outloud, @DaveAndAnastasia is it that hard to give her anything?

@Silver2019 you can write your number here or just contact some of the girs who already listed their numbers. http://tutnetam.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=150782&start=310

Sorry, I can't give you any number myself since I don't follow K1 thread anymore.

Good luck!
