*squints at your account* What the heck happened? Good lord, I feel like I missed something while convalescing!

 

I certainly do agree though. To be fair, there were always insane deductibles and premiums even before Ocare, not to mention the denial of coverage to those who needed it. We've had a lot of health issues this year, and without insurance we'd be many thousands of dollars in the hole.. so thankful for the coverage.

They do but nowhere near as many Americans going to Canada for healthcare. 

 

Americans to Canada 1.5 million

Canadians to USA 60,000

  The same reason why many Americans end up dead in ER. Lack of health services.

 

  Just different reasons. Canada doesn't have enough doctors. The US has plenty, but not enough people have access. Having worked and used both systems, there could be a happy medium there. There's just a lot of resistance by certain groups.

I am against the concept of Obamacare

 

Having said that, using the healthcare availability of millions of people as a political pawn is wrong by both sides.t 

 

Insurance should be consumed by choice not penalty, but offering the discounted insurance without subsidies by the public while covering pre-existing conditions seems just to me.

 

There is an equitable meeting point for this

I had to pay a fine each year for not having insurance.  Thank God for Trump for getting rid of it finally.

 

But the fine was as high in the end, I finally got insurance and I really don't need it or want it.

I agree the fines are ludicrous but a national self-paid policy without government subsidies is a manegable interim solution
