udge rules Obamacare unconstitutional, endangering coverage for 20 million

A federal judge in Texas threw the health coverage of some 20 million Americans in limbo by ruling Obamacare must be scrapped because Congress struck the penalty for failing to obtain insurance coverage.

The invalidation of the landmark 2010 law is certain to send shock waves through the U.S. health system and Washington after a midterm election seen in part as a rebuke to Republican efforts to tear down Obamacare.

“Wow, but not surprisingly, ObamaCare was just ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL by a highly respected judge in Texas,” President Donald Trump wrote in a tweet celebrating the verdict. “Great news for America!”

It always sounds so good, but I believe the UK is having some financial issues with their program.  Additionally, it seems the NHS in Britain has an equal number of employees that have nothing to do with actual medical dealings.

Compare health outcomes to first world countries with Universal Healthcare such as the UK, Japan, Australia, Canada etc to the For Profit healthcare system we have here, it's no contest. Life expectancy, infant mortality rate etc etc.

Dig deeper into the numbers particularly around mortality and you will see some very different parameters used for calculations.  Regardless, whether a universal health care system, of for profit, the rules of economics apply.

Most of the best legal analysis out there is saying this ruling means about a hill of beans, the headline is overblown, and there's not much to be concerned about yet.

Kind of like all the headlines surrounding the Cohen plea.

Well this thread isn't about that, nor can I comment on that specifically, I've been running around to doctors all week and have been too busy to sit down and take all of the other news stories of the week in... but fwiw, healthcare stuff always piques my interest, so I took some moments to read stuff about this. Everyone just needs to relax about the implications of this ruling - regardless of how you view Ocare and want the outcome to be, what happened is not actually what some are saying happened.
