Someone said NVC and consulates are shut down , but today my case on CEAC has been updated. I am past the interview and in admin processing. My case is still at the consulate. So I’m running into confusion with my original question. I understand the question has been answered. I don’t understand how my case has an update if the consulates are closed.

Yes the consulates and NVC have shut down.   The NVC frequently has snow days as well.

Yes, but that is the good thing about a message board.  If you read on, that one person's comment was corrected by many

It won't. It's funded by the fees we pay. So don't worry about it.

Hubs still going to work without pay atm.  Thankfully we're a month ahead on the mortgage.

Hello all,

I am abroad currently visiting family. I will be traveling back home next week with my expired card, extension letter, and other documents (ex. name change upon marriage). To assure myself I went on the CBP site to have an electronic copy of the Carrier Information Guide (just as a precaution) and I see there are alerts at the top of the page talking about the government shutdown:

Lapse in Federal Funding Impact on CBP Website Operations Notice

NOTICE: Due to the lapse in federal funding, this website will not be actively managed. This website was last updated on December 21, 2018 and will not be updated until after funding is enacted. As such, information on this website may not be up to date. Transactions submitted via this website might not be processed and we will not be able to respond to inquiries until after appropriations are enacted.

To those that have flown and arrived in the States since the shutdown, what has been your experience? Another question is, are there less officers at passport processing? In the past shutdowns, CBP/USCIS effected negatively?

Thank you. :)

Who does he work for again? My old agency(DOI) are not going in to work because nobody there are deemed (essential). So they are basically on unpaid leave until this is resolved. I work for the DOD now and we are still funded for FY19 so I am still getting paid and having to go in to work.

Why would you think that it would affect you at all? The vast majority of the Federal Government is up and running without issues. CBP is still working and thus the POEs are still open.

FAA so DOT

We will see on his next pay day if he's getting paid or not for work he's currently doing.  He was told he wasn't so we will see.

He obviously was paid for his last work period, but early because of the holiday on a Tuesday.
