But John Edwards is a Democrat so the rules are different.

From the OP linked article.

"He also pointed out that the only other time the Justice Department tried to say payments like these were campaign-related expenses was with John Edwards. Donations to Edwards’ campaign actually went to paying his mistress, a woman who worked for the campaign and ended up having his child."

If the left didn't have double standards they would have no standards at all.

I don't remember anyone having double standards on John Edwards.  Most Democrats I know were glad they dodged the bullet with this guy.  The fact that this is a difficult case to prosecute and the AG chose not to pursue a retrial does not mean he wasn't one of the slimiest slimeballs around.

No doubt.

Is this the beginning of the end for Trump?

Oh wait....I think I heard that about 50 other times the mainstream media was wailing about something.

Next they will be recycling the talking point that Trump is about to fire Mueller. This cycle will repeat until the 2020 elections.

Bookies are now taking odds on whether Trump will be impeached first, or fire Mueller first.

I don't know what is special about 'now,' there are political predictions markets about these things as soon as they come into question. Currently Predictit gives his odds of being President at end of 2019 at 63%.

What if neither one of those happens and Trump allows Mueller to make a fool of himself and there is no impeachment? Is there an option to bet on that scenario? That is where I would put my money.

Yeah, like the odds of him getting elected were around what, 10%?  Less?

I remember reading that one person, during the 2016 campaign, bet on Trump and came out ahead with about 2.5 million USD.  At least one guy felt America was great again!

I don't think he will be impeached, because we have a Senate that wildly advantages tiny states with conservative rural populations- (the two Dakota's with 1.6 million get Four Senators, right).

What I do think, is after the Special Prosecutor releases his findings and additional indictments, Republicans will be forced to pressure him to step down, or else defend the undefensible.

Not an enviable position, even if 25% of the country continues to disbelieve anything they don't want to hear.

The old “let’s get rid of the Senate argument”.  I suggest a little research on finding out why the Senate is there and why every state regardless of population gets two.

As to getting Trump to resign, I doubt he would do it unless faced with something similar that Nixon faced. Of course with Nixon, there was an actual crime, but so far with President Trump there is only innuendo and supposition fueled by a lot of biased media.
