SLEC, No need to go early.

So my fiancee went to SLEC yesterday at around 12, she walked in and I headed to the near by hotel we booked, at 1pm she told me she was mostly done but they needed her to come back at 1:30 for a few more things. I picked her up and we went too Robinsons mall down the street, dropped her off at 1:30 and she texted me that she was done at around 2:00.

I read elsewhere people were lining up at 3am when they don't even acknowledge them till 6am and don't let anyone in till 8am. We're heading back tomorrow afternoon for some shots and the results. Hopefully everything went well. She said it would have been even faster but many of the workers seem to not really know the process too well, although they're very nice.

Anyways I hope this saves some people some sleep, go ahead and sleep in. They'll still be there after you've had your beauty rest.

This is all routinely discussed here about not having to go there early at all because there is less of line. I don't know why people think that by getting there early will do them any favors at all honestly.

I think the getting there early and having to wait is more about the Embassy and not SLEC.  I know they lone up early there and generally for no reason.

They have been arriving early for SLEC as long as I been hanging out here ...  don't need to, but waste of air telling otherwise.

As for the embassy, they state this:

** STAGGERED APPOINTMENT SYSTEM **

In the embassy's continuing efforts to ensure the highest level of customer service, the Immigrant Visa unit has implemented a new appointment system designed to minimize applicant wait time.

Immigrant Visa interviews will be scheduled at 6:45 am, 7:30 am, 8:15 am and 9:00 am. Embassy personnel will facilitate entry of immigrant visa applicants 15 minutes prior to their respective interview time slot.
All applicants who arrive earlier than 15 minutes before their interview time will be asked to wait outside the Embassy premises.

I was so used to seeing lines starting at the Embassy at 3:00 am that I never realized SLEC was similar.  When my wife and step kids went they pretty much walked right in.  They were done at 1:00 on day 1 and noon on day 2.  I think they arrived around 7:30 or 8:00.

Oh, a couple more things, make sure you have the letter printed out from NVC first, they didn't want to take a print out of the ceac status pageor just the mnl #, luckily we had received the right paperwork that morning. Another thing they were incorrectly stubborn on was showing your ears in the picture, they didn't want to take my fiancee's first pictures because you couldn't see her ears. The US Embassy says nothing about showing ears, just full face, USCIS even took an identical picture. Anyways we appeased them for 120p across the street. Which we did during the lunch break.

Good to know that SLEC isn't accepting the CEAC status page anymore.  Thanks

Strange on requiring the ears showing, as the page to the passport photo requirements doesn't show the ears like you said.

As with many things here in the Philippines its better to just do what they think is the right way rather than argue the point, we tried to just tell them that it wasnt required but in the end just had new pictures taken across the street, I wonder what their cut is.

I went to SLEC 2 days ago and I didn't have any letter from nvc or an interview schedule. I just have my NVC case status and was asked to write and sign a waiver but allowed me to take the medial exam anyway. Before signing, they asked to see my name along with the case number and warned me that it is non-refundable.

I noticed yesterday when I checked the SLEC website that they have once again changed the wording for required document for the K-1 .. it now reads NVC letter with case number,  then lists the interview confirmation "if available".    They removed the "OR"   so it is no longer one document or the other .. they want the NVC letter/email

I think this is one more change intended to slow things down to make sure the case file is at the embassy.

when me and my daughter went to SLEC we arrive at 6:05 everything went well exept i had to submit an operation record from my doctor which i don't have that time. went back to hotel and called the doctor office and ask if they can email my operation record and they did and i printed it. i went back to slec before 3pm and they accept the photo copy of my record and they gave me shots on the same day. next day went back to slec for my daughter TB test result and it was negative and we do her immunization it didnt took a long time..i think we only stay there for about an hr and mostly we just wait a bit for her name to be call..

maybe that time they were so organize.
