I’ve been trying to remain positive and some days are better than others . When I sent in the petition April 30rd I never imagined we would still be waiting over 7 months later without any sign of approval , RFE ...Nothing .

This messes up our plans , due to the length I can’t see my husband having his interview within a year of initially appliying. I see so many people applying after us and married after us who have passed along and we are just at a standstill. I could really use some words of encouragement now. I used to speak to a few people on VJ how their spouse are now with them and somehow we lost contact which I’m ok with. Thank you in advance for anyone who could lend advice / some words of encouragement

You shouldn't get discouraged. You are still within normal processing time. Texas service center is now working on April 11th cases, so your time will be soon. Keep the faith.

It really is because 9 times out of 10 I probably got married before them too lol . Married since 2016. Someone sends their petition out a month after marriage same PD and gets approval before me lol

Some people are getting approved before you even though the filed their case after your because they are most likely at a different service center than u and some centers are processing faster than others.

CR/IR is always quoted as 12 to 14 months.  It stinks but it is what it is.  K-1s are quicker to this point but take longer later.  I am also waiting on CR-1.  We are September filers and I don't anticipate hearing anything until June or July at the earliest.  We had a K-1 that took 11 months to the interview.  Just relax and let the process happen.  Ghana is slower than most due to the high fraud rate.  You are still where you should be.  Dont focus on the process, focus on the love.  This process will end someday.  Be thankful that you two have found each other.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Hang in there. Long distance relationships are hard...especially when you're going through the immigration process. Don't lose hope though. I can promise you it's worth it. It took my husband and I two visa attempts and two years from the day we sent in our first petition for him to get here. The best thing to do is not compare your timeline with others. Unfortunately immigration moves at it's own pace.

You never know... the delays you think you're experiencing could be a good thing. For example, I had several people apply in Ghana for CR1s around the same time I did. Three of them moved much faster than ours. It frustrating and disheartening at times. But all three of those cases were denied for a second time within three months of our interview. About two months before our interview, the government busted the fake Ghana embassy that was selling real visas to people for a high price. Those visas were provided to fake embassy by people inside the real embassy. By the time my husband went for his interview, things had started to change. I am quite certain because our case took longer to process, we were protected from the fraud that was going on inside the embassy and were approved.

So don't lose hope. The process is taking longer these days. Use this time to prepare for the interview. Go over questions together. Continue to collect evidence. And continue to build your case.

WE are in the same boat. You’re 7 months and one week and I have 6months and half. I feel depressed too.
