Stfiii should we fill this form once 30 days has passed once uscis received i751?

You can if you want, I don't think it is necessary though...there is a huge backlog so they are coming a lot later than they used to. We didn't get ours for about 6 weeks after we sent the application; they used to send them much more quickly. If it hasn't been 6 weeks and you still have time before your green card expires, I would say just try to exercise patience.

I-751

29 Oct 2018      Application Sent

31 Oct 2018      Application Received

5 Nov 2018       Text confirmation

6 Nov 2018       Check Cashed

1 Dec 2018       Biometrics Appointment Notice

6 Dec 2018       NOA1 Date

10 Dec 2018     Biometrics Appointment - Syracuse, NY

11 Dec 2018     NOA1 Received

When you get down to Notice Type select Other. In the box Provide last action on your case, make the statement that your I797 was never received,  then copy and paste the USCIS rules that state their obligation is to send you a receipt notice I797 with the language in it that your GC is extended for 18 months. (also known as an Extension Letter)

Good afternoon,

I know this is a 2018 thread but i doesn't hurt to ask.

Where can i find  the USCIS rules that state their obligation is to send you a receipt notice I797?

I am kind of in the same boat here. i received the receipt number (#YSC) by text but never received the notice letter (Extension) and my GC expires in two weeks.  They told me to email lockbox support but they answered by telling me that they will have an answer in 30 business day and that is way over my expiration date.

Any suggestions?

USCIS offices should be open since June, 4. Make an Infopass appointment and get your passport stamped with I-551. The stamp will serve as a green card. Usually given for 1 year, but it's up to IO and can be any duration - 3,6 or whatever months.

Good luck!

Hi! thank you for the answer.

I just called USCIS CC and explained them the situation (That i waited a month to get the extension letter and did not arrived, when i called them they told me to send an email to lockbox support and that they will answer in 30 business days but my GC expires in a week and i need to show proof to my workplace HR). After all that they still said i have to wait the 30 days and did not wanted to give me an infopass appointment.

I guess they do not care if I lose my job and can't provide for my family.

I'm so sorry to hear that.... It IS sad that it is impossible now to schedule an appointment online and, like it used to be, and  one is at the 'mercy' of these Customer Service representatives... who obviously know nothing about the process and not helpful at all...

Well, I'd probably try again, in hope to reach more knowledgeable person.but if no luck and you really need the proof of your residency - I'd ask a congressperson for assistance.

That sucks, hopefully you get your NOA soon or at least get an appointment for your I-551 stamp. FYI if you used your conditional green card as proof for I-9 when you started your job you don't need to prove your work authorization again, they cant even ask you for one (it is against the I-9 rules). The NOA / I-551 stamp would be required if you are starting a new job or have to renew your DL or have to travel out of the country or for some other reason have to prove your status.

In addition to what @AJ89 said about it being illegal for HR to ask for your Greencard again, you can use other documents for verification anyway. If your DL or state ID is not expired, you can just present it with your unrestricted social security card (source).
