Now that we are nearing the end, someone has discovered YouTube immigration service.   I have spent the last week debunking misinformation

YMMV

R remains oblivious to these things so far. But, I had to fight the coconut telegraph when it came to getting her Philippine passport...

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

Be glad you are not on Reddit. The Immigration subforum on Reddit is basically a shill forum against the administration and any/all immigration policies.

I think I will change my user name to debunker

VisaJourney FB is where the real misinformation lives. Saw someone say the other day that you would be deported within days if you filed AOS from a tourist visa.

I don't think I can give you a link to my fb messenger thread.  😀

Everything starts with,  "I was watching..." or "I was speaking to..."

YMMV

Just wait until she gets here and you will argue with her about things "she heard from another Filipino".

Oh I've seen it.  The people there who post the RIGHT information get downvoted in favour of the popular posters who more often than not just say "well, get a lawyer, this isn't DIY" despite the fact that the OPs are asking about relatively easy stuff like K-1/i-130 or straightfoward AOS questions. *eyeroll*

Well, #######, does that mean I should expect ICE to come knocking soon?  Should I tidy the house for them or do they not care?

I have seen someone on here who came on a K1, got married, and they hadn't filed for AOS yet. They were stopped at an immigration check point and she was given a court date to appear because she was out of status. The judge basically told them to file for AOS and go away.

I did spend hours on the 90 Day Fiance forum on Reddit informing people about the K1/CR1 visa process. I had to do it because all the misinformation was killing me.

Yeah I got banned from that subforum because all called out the Mod for not doing enough to police it and drive away people who were just posting articles and nothing else. A fair amount of other people got banned as well who actually work in CBP so they went and started askimmigration.

I have seen a couple people posting here about ICE coming and checking up on people close to their visa(tourist visa I believe) was ending. I have heard of that happening on here a few times now.

90 Day Fiance is the best 😂😂😂. You have to get married on the 90th day for some reason.

Yeah the last show with the guy from England was killing me because people were spouting off complete BS about needing a attorney right off the bat or doing other #######. I literally came out with saying "a attorney right now will not help with ####### when they are initially filing".
