The extremely long wait time in LA comes after you get married. Average right now look like maybe 12-15 months. You will be able to get your work authorization and travel document in about 6 months though unless things change. You can check out the AOS times here: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?vtype=&op8=Los+Angeles+CA&interview=&xfr=&op1=d&op2=&op3=&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C9%2C10%2C11&cfl=0

Though there are 4 LA-area field offices (LA, Santa Ana, San Fernando Valley, and San Bernardino), and some are faster than others. You can figure out exactly which field office covers your zip code on the USCIS web site.

Ahhh, I see!

I don’t mind having to wait for a green card to be honest - we’re planning on honeymooning in Hawaii, so we can do that pre-green card - and my family are all happy to visit me whilst I can’t visit them 🙂.

Me and my fiancé are just desperate to be back together again  - we’ve done the last 14 months as a long distance relationship, after being together every day for 6 months - so we just really miss each other.

We visit each other every 2-3 months and spend the period in between just wishing time away - but we’re together again in 15 days, so I’m starting to get excited!

Sorry to get sappy on here - I feel like people on here will understand, because you’re all presumably in very similar, long-distance relationships - and so know how frustrating it is!!

Its very understandable. Some people don't understand the downsides of K1 so that is why we often point them out but so long as you are prepared for them like I was it really isn't a big deal plus AOS only takes 3 months in NC.
