Hello fellow members,

My fiance and I have got engaged in Pakistan last month and we are about to send our I-129F application.

I would like to know if we shall share our engagement photos (our engagement took place in the presence of clergy and we exchanged rings)

We also plan on sending the receipts of the purchased rings, would that be wise.

I would also appreciate if anyone can provide the approximate processing time for K1 application in 2018.

Sounds more like a wedding.

Big red flag here....they will see that and likely deny the petition (if you're lucky) or refuse the visa later.

It was not grand and it did not take place at the Church. It took place at my house with very few people. Would it still seem like a wedding?

Shall we only send our photos together and with the family besides the one exchanging the rings?

Don’t send any pictures from the engagement party. Not the rings, not pictures with the family, and not pictures with just the two of you. It has gotten too many people denied. Just send regular pictures sightseeing, hanging out, etc.

I'm sure people just post these now for a reaction? There must be 10 posts similar to this a week!?

There have been may cases that what you see as a "party" to what the CO sees as a possible "wedding". I would hate to see you come all this way and get denied because of an innocent picture. Why give the CO "ammunition" to use against you in ways you never thought possible. I'll give you an example and from there you'll need to make your own decision. If you want more information than in the upper right corner of this page is a search box. Use the words "marriage ceremony" and you will have more examples. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/641345-k-1-visa-wedding-ceremony/

Such pictures are likely to lead to a denial. She had a flower bouquet, traditional dress, rings were exchanged, and clergy were present. What to you was an engagement (do men wear engagement rings in Pakistan? Genuine curiosity here.) to the CO will look like a wedding. Such pictures are not necessary and can do more harm than good. Focus on other evidence - the best evidence to send is evidence of time spent together. How many times have you seen each other? The more, the better. Send boarding passes, passport stamps, etc. If you want to include pictures, send less formal ones.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Some men do and some don't. Thank you for the help :)

Why would clergy need to be present for engagements?  This is not common in Pakistan as far as I know.

Sounds almost as if it was a wedding (and whether it is registered or not, you would be married, so K1 would be denied - rightfully so)
