Most of the people saying we should wait. Only two are saying just contact your lawyer

Your attorney will not help at all.  They aren't afraid of attorneys.  Admin processing takes time depending on what country you are from.  No one can tell you how long it will be.

Your lawyer will receive the same answer you got from the embassy---that it's under processing and to wait.

If it will make you feel better, then contact your lawyer........but the lawyer will not achieve anything.  Administrative Processing can not be expedited.  There is no way to estimate the time it will take.  It could be months or even years, unfortunately........

as hard and frustrating as it is, that is the situation

immigration to the US is a privilege not a right, and sometimes that privilege takes a long time to receive

You do not need to discuss with anyone, except your petitioner and if you have a lawyer, your lawyer (not saying you need a lawyer)

I do not think anyone said there is a problem, you are in AP, no one can tell you why or what the holdup is, there is nothing you can do to speed up AP

The solution is sabr

Yea exactly.. no one can help us even the lawyer..! Because the case is in Ap and embassy is dealing with the case.. so we just have to wait and pray..!!

You're free to reach out to your attorney.

You're free to reach out to a congressman.

Neither can make it go any faster or give you a hard timeline.

My fiancé was applying for jobs in America while he was in Pakistan and fortunately he was offered a job!! And the company is calling for an interview. Unfortunately we are also stuck in AP and his passport is with the embassy. I am wondering if I should travel to Pakistan and go to the embassy to show them he has a job Interview and it’s urgent... we have to leave...please advise

You are applying for a K1 visa, correct? IF so your fiance will not have their EAD card upon POE and cannot work until receipt - which is around 5 months or so.  I definately would not tell the embassy that you need the VISA because your fiance has a job interview.   That would only do harm to your case.

Also, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can do to have the embassy speed up their AP.      They have as much time as they want to make a decision.  The only way you can force them to make a decision is to have a judge issue a writ of mandamus to adjudicate the case.  And they wont issue it because your fiance through a K1 visa has a job interview.   It will be because the  wait has been unreasonable.  Also, it doesn't guaranty a specific outcome, but that the embassy will have to make a decision.   And if you can get the right federal judge to agree to issue this, it has to be at least 1 year before you have a shot.  And if they dont have all their checks completed they will either ask the applicant for more time or they will deny the case. YOu see where i am going with this?

Also, you might want to go check out the sub forms for your specific country .    Unfortunately you are from a high fraud country and there are many people from Pakistan who have waited over 9 months to a year while in AP.

There is no time limit.  It is open-ended......some cases have been in AP for years.

The issue is most likely background checks. If so, they cannot expedite those no matter what. Even a WoM (described above) would just result in a refusal if they don't have the information necessary to make an approval decision. And getting an WoM generally only applies after an extended period of processing beyond the norm.

As noted, they aren't allowed to work for at least several months anyway.

How would you even show them? As a USC you can enter the embassy with valid business (debatable they would do so here or not, but lets assume they will). However, the COs (which handle visa cases) are in a different section that you don't have access to nor can you just walk up to a window/room with the CO.
