Does beneficiary need petitioner's original birth certificate at K1 interview?

Hi everyone,

I've read on the following website that the beneficiary needs an original and photocopy of the petitioner's (not just the beneficiary's own) birth certificate.

Is this true or bs? I was only able to find on other websites (including the official government's) that the beneficiary's original/photocopy of birth certificate were required.

We only had to provide beneficiarie's original birth certificate. Mine (petitioners) was not needed. That's for Australia ---> to Usa. I don't see why it would be otherwise elsewhere.

At ours , only the original of the beneficiary was needed FOR INTERVIEW. 

The birth certificate for petitioner wasn’t needed because the US citizen passport was copied and sent with the 129f packet. Also provided a copy of my California drivers license for added measures lol.

cant say, but do know i will have paul take my original to his interview (and a copy)

 

you should always have an original of all your important documents on file anyways.

I would google your specific country checklist, or find it here in the forums. Will tell you all you need. That link doesn't look official, just general and may be outdated.
