Oh I understand trust me. My asawa is like that as well, she is very stand offish trying to see if you are worth making her acquaintance. It sounds rude but she really hates people that are either too whiny, boastful, or just plain selfish. Also one thing that we see a lot done here is Filipinos getting together to gamble/play poker or hawk some MLM "business". We are not into stuff like that at all so my wife was thankful that this woman and her friends only play BINGO, lol.

What does your asawa do for a living? You should move to NC or Florida.

my husband used to have a pinay co worker and she owe us 3k and its been almost 2 years and she forgot to pay lol.. the reason why im not really into meeting or knowing filipino  in our area is that i heard from one of our kababayan here that they gather mostly every weekend and most of them cheat on their spouse i hate that thing so i try to live avoiding those cheater kababayan im so disagree of what they are doing hehe.

My husband is a software engineer.

my Asawa has a cousin in Louisville, she would fit that description

i ended up deleting my fb account when i started meeting pinay in FB because like @Cyberfx1024 said "business" im not really into it and most of them are whining about their life here.. my point is they should be aware of all of this stuff before they move here..but i guess we cant really change the fact that most filipino are "whiny"😂

I'm the beneficiary but prior to what I do now, I was a chef so when I eventually move over there I'll pretty much be studying/exercise and cooking myself. Unfortunately my fianceé is the master baker and I'm much more the main meal cooker so that'll be what takes up most of my time.

I couldn't have said it better than Boris64 though!

im no master Baker 😂😂its ashame but im learning and i play with different types of flour mostly everyday 😅

sometimes it worth to try and try until we get it right 😂😂sometimes i fail too welcome to the club 😂😂

hahaha you're right, I'll 'experiment' more 'til I get it right. Aside from baking and house work I also do cross stitch and embroidery on my spare time, I'm awkward and shy around other people so I really don't go out often unless my husband is with me.😅

My asawa was the same way when we lived in CA for the first couple years. She then was fine with going out and driving by herself as long as it was not on Freeways, here she goes wherever she wants because traffic is so lite compared to Los Angeles.

OMG hahahah I just asked my husband the other day to teach me what to do in case of a medical emergency ( I'm still learning how to drive😅) like what papers should I bring if he's the one sick, etc etc.

Wow, I'm still a beginner with embroidery and starting out on small patterns it will take me some time to be good at it. You are so talented lol I'm not very good at hand sewing😂🙈

My husband is teaching me how to drive and it always makes me nervous, to think we were just driving around the neighbourhood lol.

My husband is a software engineer.

My wife has a neice who is currently TNT in VA right now. She came to the USA on a J1 visa after graduating college and begged my asawa to borrow money to fly back to the Philippines this earlier this year because my BIL had a stroke, her visa was still active then so she came back and is now TNT. She borrowed $1k from us and has only repaid us $200 so far, and I doubt I will see that money anytime soon if at all. She is now whining about her roommate in VA and talking about wanting to come live with us.

My wife doesn't want her to come because she is TNT, has no car, and would rely on us to take her to/from work since we live in the country with no busses. My wife doesn't want all that drama but I told her that she is family so it's kind of expected that we at least offer a place.

That's exactly how I taught my wife to drive as well. Trust me there were a lot of times with her crying because of being stressed out while I was teaching her, but now she is fine.

My wife is short as well and when I get in her car after her driving I have to slide the seat WAYYYYYYYY back before I can even fit in it as a macho guy.  The 1st year my wife used uber a lot to help drop the kids off at school in the morning when I couldn't.

R says she will never want to learn how to drive and she will just go with me. I said in a year you will change your mind)))

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

My wife said that as well but learned pretty quickly that even in Los Angeles you need a car. So she learned to drive and now loves the independence of it.
