Police Record

For the Affidavit of Support packet, I have to send a copy of my police certificate. Do I have to get finger-printed? I have had this done before, before changing my last name. Can I just get a copy of my report? Can someone please lead me in the right direction?

Are you the USC petitioner? If so, you don't need to submit a police certificate.

It specifically outlines the things you need when you lig in to the website...for both petitioner and beneficiary.  

 

The police record, birth certificate are under the beneficiary section. You dont need to add those for you. Just him. 

 

You will need to submit the 864, your tax info, any co sponsor info if needed. He submits his passport page, birth certificate, police clearance, court clearance, all translations. He will fill out the DS260 and sign it. They will fingerprint him at the interview he does not submit that. 

 

You can submit any additional evidence in the "other" section you want them to consider.

and best to submit addtional supporting evidence now at NVC stage as they do not look at it at interview

I am specifically asking about the police record and only that. I have everything else.

It seems as though you 2 think I was being rude, forgive me. I wasn't. I know that people were only trying to help, and I NEED the help. ❤️  I wanted to make sure I was very specific because this is important to me. Also, I was at work replying. 😛

 

I'm wondering how I can get my police report. In my state, Michigan, I can go online to something called iCHAT and pay $10 and print a police record.

When I got married in Morocco, the judge said this was not the proper paper. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. It was the Michigan State Police Department who told me to print the paper from iCHAT before.

We were just telling you that you do not need a police report.  Did they tell you that you did?

For me, the petitioner, it says that I need my Civil Documents. I thought that this included birth certificate, marriage certificate, and police records.

 

I'm wrong, aren't I?

Unfortunately, the internet does not show true emotions  So, your short answers communicated rudeness. But, I am glad you clarified and we are all good now in the Hood. As for your question, you do not need a police report. Only your Beneficiary needs both Police and Court clearances (Casier Judiciare & Antrometrique) both translated by accredited Translators only. Also, It is best to always check the DOS and USCIS sites directly. Asking around is excellent, but take everything with a grain of salt around here. Best of luck to you.
