Sounds like some information is missing because if no criminal background, then even if something was missing you would have received an RFE not a case transfer most likely.

Has your fiance ever been to the US? Perhaps some background check done by USCIS came across something and that is the hold up.

And Rapid visa is simply an agency that fills out the forms for you. They have no legal backing at all as in a lawyer or anything. Even says it on their site. And even an immigration laywer couldn't help this situation, they have no real power or influence over USCIS.

Have you tried using the Senator in your district in WA DC. Seems that Senators and their aides have better access to USCIS. We used our Senator  twice and got very fast responses.

My case was transferred twice, they can transfer for whatever reason they choose.   I know that doesn't make it easy, but you have to let the process play out.   I had my senator involved from the beginning and they helped to keep things moving along.   I still had to wait though.

I also suggest contacting tier 2 and speaking with an officer.  Don't give up, keep fighting!  I called every week until they approved me.   Don't let your case fall through the cracks.   12 months is crazy for the petition to not be approved.

I have also reached out to the omsbudman at times.

👊 bump for Nigeria!

I've never heard of a K1 being transferred to a local office. Maybe to New Hampshire for those with a criminal background or to another National Service Center if one station gets too far behind. Very strange...

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

Calling the helpline is useless.

Contact senator(replies within 2 weeks) and ombudsman(4-6 month backlog). If those fail, either wait or sue.

Wow, man its crazy...it makes no sense.

I know. Uscis said that it was sent there to sit in queue until it was its turns to be processed. Then they said that Texas wanted it. So Texas would be processing it. Coz they had jurisdiction. He also said that their were different processes the petition must go through. In other words more than just one dept must go over it. He said it was nothing that we need to do. It just need to go through the process.
