Lol I was being hyperbolic. My only point was that online relationships are far more common today than ever and are not less legitimate than relationships that start through other "traditional" means.

^ This. Both my husband and I have never used them. The only people who I've known personally to use dating sites have been those who truly are trying to find someone, like actively seeking.

I met my husband while playing World of Warcraft. We started playing together with about 10 other online friends in 2010. A couple of years before we started dating we were all in a group chat talking about dating and relationships, and my husband made a comment that he would never date someone he met online because he didn't believe in it. Shoot even when we said we had feelings for each other he STILL stated he wasn't sure about any of this because he didn't like LDRs and online dating. That changed like two days later, but yeah, not all people that meet on the internet are seeking people out.

Agree.   My husband and I met on a war game.  His team attacked mine and I sent him a nasty message.   I was not looking for anyone nor have I ever wanted to date someone long distance (I've have always been extremely high maintenance) but it happened.    My sisters have dated men from the internet before (from USA) and I thought they were insane...who is the crazy one now..LOL

Exactly. I would NEVER have chosen this path if I didn't have to and definitely wouldn't actively seek someone on the other side of the world online. There is nothing fun about long distance, thousands of dollars spent in visits and visas, watching your husband having to leave the country they love, and as the USC-- having to make huge life sacrifices like giving up career choices to make this happen. I stumbled upon my husband in a restaurant in real life and well....he was worth it. So, here we are!

yup. lord knows i tried to get rid of paul LOL wasnt interested in dating, much less someone 750 miles away

10/14/21 (havent heard anything... when do i start to get worried?)
