I agree watching Carlson, Ingraham and Hannity gives you brain damage.  Other journalists on  Fox News are decent folj like Baier, Shephard, Wallace. Listening to Jones and Limbaugh makes you brain dead.

Come on you gave the same opinion the other day as Joy Behar about the Senate and gerrymandering, I think you need to get your news elsewhere.

So if every Presidential candidate for decades had no problem in releasing their returns what made Mango's special? Oh and I'm not running for President. Mango is hiding something and the chickens will come home to roost.

Let me ask the question a different way, hoping you’ll be able to answer it instead of deflecting, as is the norm....

What was your gross income last year? Your deductions?  Standard? Your AGI? Please share with the forum this vital info, we deserve to know.

Seventy four percent of Americans think Trump should release his returns. A petition on whitehouse.gov has over a million signatures to that end. However nothing can legally compel Trump to do so at this time. Anyone who wanted to make this an issue should have done so before the election.

On the other hand, I don't see the correlation between asking the president to release his returns and asking Jim. There is no reason Jim would or should ever give out his tax information on this forum. The reasoning that led to asking that makes no sense.

So the next time a Dem President says something crass or something inappropriate, I expect Fox News and the GOP to not criticize but to laugh it off. :) Because if it was OK for Trump it's OK for any future President.

Can we say the same thing about Trump using EOs to cancel Obama's EOs?

Lol one state! Republicans have been mastering it for years in Pennsylvania, North Carolina etc etc.

Just wondering, do you even know how districts are created?  Do you know what requirements the group that does the districting are under to draw the lines?  Sure it is easy to say the state houses (DNC or GOP controlled) drew maps based on political leanings, but last time I checked, the US Census does not ask for party affiliation.  Also, if there is a mandate that there must be districts with a majority of a minority group, this can lead to some very funky districts as minorities do not always live in the same place.  I think you need to do some researching.  I will give you a start, regardless of what Joy Behar states, Senate districts are not redrawn on a regular basis.

Doing good  Had the best Economy in YEARS and still lost the House! He lost Independents and Surburban voters. His approval rating is STILL underwater.

Just curious, since Trump's approval rating at this point of his first term is equal to Obama's, was Obama's approval rating also underwater?

The wave GOP had in 2010 was because districts weren't as gerrymandered as they are today. I believe if you check the generic congressional ballot from then and to now they're pretty much the same. Like I said Dems would've ganied a lot more under the old districts.

What proof do you have that the Dems would have gained more under the old districts?  Btw, I live in one of these supposedly gerrymandered districts and a Democrat transplant won this year.  As much as you bloviate about gerrymandering, you need to remember, people have freedom of thought even though the Democrat overlords say the assigned identities all need to think and act the same way.

About Mango's finances, so why is he so determined to hide his Tax Returns? He is under constant audit which is laughable. We will know soon enough though because it'll be Mueller Time!

When your legal advisors tell you to do something, it is almost always best to follow their advice.  His taxes are currently under audit, any competent lawyer would advice against making those documents publicly available until the audit is over.  Heck, if I were in his place, I would do the same thing as I don't need to have folks that think like the leftist media or others with TDS doing their own auditing in the left wing media.

Maybe not my place to say so out loud, but based on the election happenings, I'd guess the fetal position will be involved.

I don't think we agree on all of it. I recall you never were interested in the returns being released even during the election, where as I would have a hard time voting for someone who wouldn't.

I think we do agree that there is no legal requirement behind this in the first place. Trump chose not to release his returns, which for him was probably a smart move. He won anyway. No sense rehashing it IMO. That ship sailed a long time ago.

You are correct, I cared not for his returns to be released.  Nor Obama’s.  Nor either of the Clintons.  Nor Bush’s.  I don’t feel releasing them does anything in the way of validating a candidate.  There are candidates with KNOWN tax problems who are still running today, so what difference does it make? (Stacey Abrams of today comes to mind)

I asked Jim to share his simply to make a point.  They are a personal thing, and unless a person wishes to share, it’s really no one’s business except theirs and the IRS.  Which brings us back to... like many ultra-rich people, Trump is being audited.  And I would imagine it happens pretty regularly.  And if the IRS is looking more closely into his returns (or even if they were not, if he just filed and was done), I am sure the IRS can judge the correctness of his returns FAR better than the general population can.

I do all I can to minimize the taxes I pay, as I am sure every American does.  My ETR runs around the 10.1-11% mark.  I have never been audited (but then again, I am small potatoes to the IRS).  I try to ensure my taxes are done 100% accurately.  As I am sure most Americans do.  I share what I know about filing with anyone who asks, because I feel after 37+ years of doing them, I am fairly adept at it (with the help of Turbo Tax, of course!).  I have even compared my return line-by-line with a friend who had trouble one year trying to understand what was up with his taxes.  But if someone outside the IRS tried to force me to divulge the contents, I would laugh them out of town, and I suspect Jim and most of us would do the same.  Hence my lack of understanding about harping on Trump divulging his.
