Just another query for Aussie CR1 applicants.  My documents uploaded on the CEAC page are done and I received notification via email that my Documents are good to go, and that NVC will be working with the Sydney Embassy to schedule my Visa Interview.  In your experience how long did it take for NVC to get in touch with you with your interview schedule after they advised you that they will be working with the Sydney Embassy to schedule your interview?  Most recent experience please...like the last two months if possible.

Here are my recent times:

09/19/18 - Case Complete at NVC

10/16/18 - Advised interview date over the phone (+27 days)

10/18/18 -  Interview appointment letter received (+28 days)

11/20/18 - Appointment  (+33 days)

I believe they send out all the letters at the same time, so the people who interviewed in October found out like a day before my case was complete. So I think my wait time is close to the maximum you can get - they usually send out letter interviews for the next month mid month so hopefully you should hear soon about your December interview date.

12/26/17 - NOA1

06/27/18 - NOA2 (+183 days)

07/11/18 - Case sent to NVC (+14 days)

07/18/18 - NVC Received (+7 days)

08/10/18 - NVC Case Number (+23 days)

09/06/18 - All Docs Submitted (+27 days)

09/19/18 - Case Complete at NVC (+13 days)

10/18/18 -  Interview appointment letter received (+29 days)

11/20/18 - Interview Date (+33 days) - APPROVED!

11/26/18 - Visa Received

Thanks NatalieC136!  Did you find out via email?  Also, what if the dates are not suitable? What to do?

Thanks again :)

Hi Redvines...Does the CEAC page actually say Case Complete or does it say something about your your documents being qualified?  I am hoping for a November interview only because at the end of December I am off to Japan for a week.  If and when I do get my immigrant visa, it might be cutting it close to my trip.  And my passport might not get to me on time.  I wonder if there's anything I can do to secure a November  interview.  Or even an early December one.  Although from what I can see, they schedule CR1 on the third week of each month....

The message back in September we got from NVC said documentarily qualified and that case status tracker changes too.

Fingers crossed for you - this last part has really dragged and caused us quite a bit of stress.

Thanks!  I might send them an email and see if I can secure an interview on the same date as yours.  Otherwise, I pray to God that they send back my passport soon straight after my interview. Hoping no glitches too!

Oh did you get a physical letter from them and not an email regarding your interview?

I called and confirmed I had a case complete because on CEAC it had document qualified. Prior to calling I received 2 emails saying the NVC have updated my case on CEAC and to login and check. Once I did that I called, confirmed I had Case complete and then waited for an interview date. They gave me the interview  date over the phone and said I would get another email. I received the email from the Sydney Consulate confirming the interview date and time a few days later. the day after that I received the NVC email saying they are working with Sydney.

I had no issues with my interview date but I would say if you needed to reschedule you would have to contact the Sydney Consulate and work with them. They would most likely give you a later date though, not an earlier one.

Thanks Natalie!!! Did you call NVC or the Sydney Embassy?  I was hoping to get the Nov 20 schedule too.  I think they schedule CR1 on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  In any case if I get scheduled on Dec 18, I may not get my passport back to me for my trip to Japan on Dec 28, as it takes them 7-10 days to send back our passport...considering the public holidays in between too...

Would you mind pointing me to the right direction please?  I am losing sleep because of this...hahahaha...True but :(

It is quite stressful I understand. I called NVC. If you call the Sydney Embassy, all I got was an automated voice message, I think because I was trying to call before 9am. You can also email them, I got a same day response: support-australia@ustraveldocs.com

I believe the NVC is finished with scheduling for November, so most likely you are on track for December. Given your issue with needing your passport back, you could risk it (you're actually required to provide a 500g A4 express post envelope that they mail your passport back to you in) most people get it back in around 7 days. However I wouldn't want to risk that if I were you. Slots at the Embassy only open up if someone else cancels though. So its either postpone the interview or risk not getting your passport back before your holiday 😓

I know, right!  I am hoping I'll get scheduled for a date earlier than Dec 18.  I will call NVC first thing tomorrow for sure!  I didn't realise we still need to provide an Express Post Bag.  I was told TOLL does it now, and the it's included in our IV fee we paid on the CEAC page.  Was that on your checklist?  Anyways, ggod luck on Nov 20.  I'm sure you won't have any trouble at all.  Thanks again Natalie for helping me out....Geeezzz so stressful!
