Both that and the "Get most recent I-94" would confirm when the I-94 expires.

That said, you can just count 90 days from entry on the K-1 visa.

But you'll need the I-94 for an SSN, possibly a driver's license, and for AOS. So get familiar with it.

We went to apply 5 days after he arrived and they didn't find him in the SAVE system and told us to come back.  We went back a month later and he still was not in the system.  He arrived on Sept 15th and to this day is not in the SAVE system and we are still waiting for USCIS to give SS confirmation of his eligiblity!

Man, thats tough... on the SS for K-1 guidelines it shows to wait minimum 2 weeks before you go apply at the SSA in you area. Now I guess its the waiting game.... hopefully they get it done before your I-94 expires!!

To be fair, that's outdated. Nowadays SAVE is updated almost immediately, so it likely wasn't the waiting period but some kind of mismatch that triggered manual verification (i.e. a typo in the name at POE, something getting cut off if the name is longer, etc.).

So theres not exact timeframe to wait till you submit the papers for the card?

It really doesn't make a difference because its almost 2 months now and he is still not in the system.  I'll just apply with EAD if it doesn't come by next week

I usually say give it a couple days out of an abundance of caution.

You must apply with at least 14 days of legal status remaining (so <=76 days from entry on a K-1), or have an EAD, or have a green card.

Ah okay perfect, in regards to the SS form when it asks "Citizenship", do I choose "Legal Alien Allowed to Work " or "Not Allowed".
