Family in Immigration Ban Countries

I am a US citizen, born in america.

My wife is on a 2 year conditional green card; I believe we apply for lifting conditions in about 1 year.

Her family is in Iran with only Iranian citizenship.

However, my wife is pregnant; and it would be nice for her sister or her mother to come when the baby is born to help out for a few weeks; is there any Visa pathway to get her family temporarily in the US, and anything I can effectuate within the next six months or so?

any ideas would be appreciated.

They can apply to visit, not work.

Nothing to do with you.

It looks like any type of Iranian entering america is banned except for students and visiting scholars.

No tourist visas?

Not looking for her to work; just when a baby is born it is a busy time; so an additional family member to help with the cleaning and the cooking is useful; just a normal family visit not looking for a nanny; just normal things families do for one another.

It would be nice to have them visit given the new baby.

Maybe your wife could visit them?

Applying for a tourist visa for the purpose of taking care of a new baby/mom is often looked at as "work," for consular purposes, even though in most cultures it is a normal, unpaid role for family.   Such visas can be difficult even within non travel-ban countries, but you can always try.  They will need to really understand the concept of establishing strong, verifiable ties to home before applying.  Good luck!

It would still count as working as they are taking away a nanny job for an American. Visitor visa is for visiting the US only, not working.

While the "it is counted as work" posts are correct, that's not the point here. The OP wants the Iranian relatives to visit on tourist visas, and the travel ban says they can't. That's the end of the line right there.

Are there waivers for tourist visa decisions?

Um... not sure why you're asking me specifically ;) ...I have no idea, I've personally never heard of one but that doesn't mean anything lol. If they exist I presume they work the same way as any other waiver, that is, you apply for a visa, get denied, and with your denial you get informed if a waiver exists to overcome that denial. The only waivers I'm familiar with involve showing hardship to a USC or LPR, and it's hard to see how someone on a tourist visa could help with that,  but again, I can't claim to know all about waivers.

Makes sense.

Not the decision, there is for inadmissibilities.
