I never showed up on Save until I had already gone to SSA, applied and then underwent manual verification.

The 10 day wait is legit for DHS to update your entry into the US for K1s so you shouldnt bother to apply for the SSN until then.

If you go here:

https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/?topic=Social Security Number and Card

And then scroll down to:

"Social Security Numbers For Noncitizens

05-10096, ICN 468630, March 2018"

And the download the PDF, you can read more on it.

I didn't check the SAVE site when my fiance arrived, but we went to the SSA office 10 days after arrival for him to request a social security number in which they did but said they would need time to verify as he wasn't in the system yet. Just today I see that the case has been updated on the SAVE site. If that means they issued him his social, then it took almost 5 weeks for that to happen.

We shall see! Good thing we have a copy of a lot of information that is needed from the K-1 (copies of conversations, pictures, taxes etc.) because I feel like this application is going to be another BIG one!

@JMCKNG i dunno if this website even works to track your social security info. but worth a try. https://www.ssa.gov/ere/ere_demo_public/html/EREStatus/tkst01.html?scenario=CEAdmin

Awesome this thread is being started.  We will be filing ours tomorrow.  Thought we were going to October filers but there was a delay with our marriage certificate.  Good luck everyone and lets pray for a smooth process! :)

Hi all, as it relates to copies of certificates, I’m always tempted to send the original in order to not have the risk of RFE, has everyone been okay with just copies of marriage and birth certificates? Even if it had the void watermark when you copy it?

Jumping in with you all---I filed late October 26th and we just received our received text notifcations but not hard copies of the letters .

The only thing that is driving us crazy is my husband cannot drive. I run my own business and he is working in my business with me---and I am having to be taxi driver. I know it is not a job offer--but do you think this would qualify for expedited status?

You would have to prove extreme financial hardship as the reason that you would be requesting an expedite on those grounds.

Empty bank accounts and proof of bills piling up would be required evidence I'm sure.

Hi All, it was long great struggle to get my fiance here, so I procrastinated a bit on the AOS filing . I am now 10 days away from I-94 expiration. I started filling out the forms, need some guidelines of the time effort needed to put together the whole package and mail it out. ( I will not be doing 693 form as we have a copy of the 3025) . Thanks a ton!

N400 filed: Aug 16 2016

N400 approved: Oct 16 2017 (14 months!)

I personally feel like I'm experiencing deja vu with the I-129F. I have spent probably a good week so far gathering the appropriate documents, necessary copies, and reading through all of the differently worded questions within the applications.

I would start it as soon as you can! I think my application will at least be 100 pages combined 😤 I hope to have it sent this week and we are  2 months after POE.

For the marriage cert, you should be using certified copies, not photocopies.  Ours have a wet signature from the county clerk, and certified copies are only $3 each.
