Annual income  = current income, not any past income or tax year income. You're reading too much into the question. In general for an employed worker (not self-employment), it's what you would respond with if somebody asked "How much do you make?"

 

On the I-864, there are 3 fields for entering your last 3 years of tax year income (along with asking for your current annual income separately), but no such field is on the I-134.

Good to know. I will take the W-2 out. I have my tax transcript from last year that provides everything. I definitely do not want to add confusion or open doors for wanting additional evidence. Thank you

Here is what most Embassy's are asking for. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

I am glad you said that about the savings because when I fill out my I-134 there will only be about 3-4k in my savings because of all of the costs (and less in my checking). I was told that W-2's are unnecessary.

I am actually not able to come to the interview  I am scanning everything to him via email and he will go get everything printed out. I want to come but financially around the holiday season and if he gets approved and possibly not coming until the weekend of Xmas - that is going to be a pricey ticket

We are and the same situation, tickets even in spirit are hella expensive, and he wont be able to come plus we run out of vacations days... so we have five visits and will stay positive so im going alone to the interview! because we have a wedding ahead and AOS so cant spend a lot in a 4 days ticket!
