get our citizenship today

Congrats, but now you're going to disappear on us, given that your process is over?

Mrs. NB/MB obviously studied the definitive guide to passing the citizenship test:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/382775-mrs-t-b-the-citizenship-test/

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

'Go home!': Residents in an upscale Tijuana neighborhood throw rocks at the migrant caravan and order them out of Mexico while US troops put MORE barbed wire up to stop hundreds arriving at the border from climbing the wall

Ironic.

And here's a quote from the article:  "Mexican Interior Minister Alfonso Navarrete said that job fairs would be held around the country from today to lay out opportunities for Central Americans, reiterating earlier government offers of work."

More irony:  the Mexicans are offering to hire illegals!

It's a free country, and for all we know that person might a very good reason for not wishing to stand for the anthem. I always stand myself, but I would not be particularly upset either way, even if it was the Irish national anthem, someone chose to sit down for.

Punishing someone because they chose not to stand for an anthem is what they do in fascist dictatorships.

It appears no one was punished so your sensibilities need not yet again be offended

To be fair she was with a person being sworn in. I dont care if I was in North Korea I would stand for their Anthem out of respect for those around me

If I were in The DPRK, I would definitely stand for their national anthem.  No questions asked. It wouldn’t be out of respect, but out of fear for my life if I don’t.

Congratulations. Im sure it was a proud and emotional moment for the both of you. Im looking forward to the day my wife and I will do the same.

Well, in spite of being told here that this caravan is faux news, the Mexican government seems to believe it is actually moving north thru their country still.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/20/world/americas/migrants-caravan-mexico.html

Also of note... though we have been informed here that this happens almost daily, nothing to see here, the NY Times seems to think this caravan is the largest ever.

'Out! Out!': protests grow in Tijuana against migrant caravan

Tensions have built as nearly 3,000 migrants poured into the Mexican border city in recent days

Sadly, I see nothing good coming out of this mess.  Not for Mexico, and certainly not for the migrants.  It’s hard for me to fathom how bad it must have been at home to uproot their families and try to walk to America.  But I wonder if they are really in any better place today?  Mexico is offering to “let” them work in their factories.  But when I read that word, my mind changes it to “sweatshop”.  I hope the migrants have not jumped from the frying pan into the fire.

Well, how would WE feel if a bunch of freeloaders showed up and began consuming our resources?

Local TV anchorman has embedded himself in the caravan.

Showed some of the fisticuffs today.  No welcome mat for that crowd, wow man.

One native repeatedly clobbered an illegal who was trying to scale our border fence.

Has anyone called the people of Tijuana racist for chanting for them to get out and chanting they are not wanted there?

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

So it was someone being naturalized or a visitor that failed to stand up for the National Anthem?

Three year for a marriage based GC.  I believe the children automatically get naturalized when the mother does.
