K-1 Visa - photo evidence

Hey everyone! Quick question - just to soothe my worries. I'm putting together our K-1 visa packet, and adding in some pictures as evidence of our ongoing relationship. Is there any problem with simply printing pictures on a laser jet? I'm basically just creating a big Word document for our packet, and I have already added in the pages with pictures and typed captions. A lot of what I've read describes people actually printing 4x6 photos and handwriting captions on the back. Sounds like a hassle, but I'll do it if it's required.

Let me know your thoughts! I want to get this right the first time :)

Printing the photos in a word document is fine, photos are only secondary evidence :)

It is fine.  Photos are secondary evidence.  Proving an ongoing relationship is not needed until the interview at the consulate.  You only have to show proof of having met once in the past two years, and passport stamps are better for that.  We didn't send any photos at all, and were approved after 185 days, no RFE

Ongoing relationship evidence is not a requirement for the petition

YMMV

Printing pictures on plain paper is fine.....BTW, have you considered a CR-1?

K-1

More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 3-4 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 3-4 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period .
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.

CR-1
Less expensive than K-1
No AOS required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card withing 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

All-in-all, the CR-1 is superior to the K-1 imo.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

As others have already said, evidence of ongoing relationship isn't a requirement for the i-129f petition. USCIS only wants to see proof that you have met each other in erson at least once within the last 2 years.

You can send a couple of photos if you really want to. I did, and I printed them on my printer and wrote explanations and dates underneath each photo.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

Thank you! And ya, we considered the CR-1 for all of the reasons you mentioned. The biggest reason we decided to go with the K-1 is that we'd rather be separated during an engagement rather than while we are married. The CR-1 would require us to be separated after the wedding, and that would be miserable. The timeline is also a bit longer for the CR-1.

Ignore all the nonsense about which Visa is "superior" because they both have pros and cons.  Understand the differences and pick the one that is "superior" for your situation not based on other members situation.  For me, the superior Visa was the k-1 based on my situation.

I agree! I just responded to another post saying basically the same thing. K-1 has the best outcome for our situation :) To each their own! Either way it's a long journey. Thanks for your support!
