I am currently employed right now, but will be quitting my job before the interview will take place. Should I still put my current employer on the DS 160 form?

You should always fill out information so that it accurate at the time you are filling it in.  Consulates understand that things change.

Another common example for the DS-160, is a question regarding vaccines.  The beneficiary probably has not had their medical exam/vaccines at the time the DS-160 is being filled out.  It is completely okay to say the beneficiary has not had their vaccines, but you can mention that they plan to get them at the medical exam.

Hey everyone,

finally filling out DS-160. I have a question. I am currently employed right now, but will be quitting my job before the interview will take place. Should I still put my current employer on the DS 160 form?

thanks!

The DS-160 doesn't affect anything until the interview. Why don't you not submit it till the week of your interview then all your information can be entered accurately. Most here think that they have to do it the minute they get their case number.

I am sure you can even update the DS-160 as well. I do remember it stating something about updating with most up to date ds160 confirmation number as well. Just dont remember where.

I'm not sure but what I have heard from others is once you schedule your interview you can't access your DS-160 and will either need to create a new one or have the CO make the changes. I opt for the CO but that's just my opinion.

A couple notes on the DS-160:

  1. I filled out most of it early, and just didn't submit it until the last moment.  I set calendar reminders every 3 weeks to log in, thus "refreshing" the DS-160, so it wouldn't get deleted from the system.
  2. On the bottom of the page, there are two buttons, Print Confirmation Page (which you may need to do for your interview), and Print Application.  The Print Application button goes grey after you Sign&Submit, so print it before then if you'd like a printed/saved copy.

Who knows from what day they count 90 days? From the day of interview?

Assuming you mean the 90 days you have to get married on a K-1, that starts from the day you enter the US.

Your visa will have an expiration date (probably six months from your medical exam date) which will tell you the latest you can enter the US.

Almost there, you'll get your visa soon, little bit more patience.
