Marriage time and filing time for citizenship

The 5 year rule is for those who applies for citizenship by themselves without remaining to same spouse .

 

So my marriage is 11/18/15 and resident card since 01/27/2016. I used this https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator and saw I can start filing N400 since 10 / 29 / 2018.

 

But my marriage is not 3 years yet by 10 / 29 / 2018. Do you guys think I should wait until after 11/18/2018?

You're good to go. Your CR1 or DCF or AOS processing must have been very fast to have such a short time between the 2 dates.

Not necessarily.  I have remained married to the same person for the last 6 years and have been an LPR for 5 years.  Not everyone wants citizenship ASAP nor does everyone want to send relationship evidence to the USCIS AGAIN.  Personally Ive had it up to my eyebrows with having to prove a genuine marriage to the US government simply because I'm foreign.

Yup. You can file the N-400 tomorrow, the 29th.

I’m with you on this. I’m filing ASAP for reasons that apply to our case specifically and I need to make sure there is at least one country on earth where both my husband and I can live indefintely. But the whole process of proving we are genuinely married, etc does not thrill me. And I can see why some people never apply for citizenship and just keep their green card for decades.

I followed this Website and prepared documents as their advice so that USCIS does not ask for further documents. I was not called for interview for 2 year green card but I have been waiting for the 10 year green card, 1 year already. How long does it take for you guys to get 10 year GC?

When did you file for removal of conditions (10 year gc)? And did it go to CSC or Vermont? It was 14 months from the time my wife got her NOA1 for her 10 year GC to her approval (which just happened this past week). CSC seems to be approving July & August '17 applications right now, VSC is a little behind that I think.
