It's not just certain documents from SLEC, but he 1) must be a current panel physician from SLEC, and 2) must complete any tests and treatments there (or wait 1 year after treatment elsewhere). No way around that.

Hello everyone,

My fiancee has just completed her medical exam and was informed by the physician that they have found something in her chest x ray that needs further evaluation. ( they have said that they found something in her lungs). Kind of worried and wondering what it can be. Can this cause her to be denied for a visa? I have read and heard that at times there is a way to get a medical wavier is there any truth to this? If so how can I go about this if needed? All though she does seem perfectly healthy and fine to me and her self also. She is not a smoker or anything an does not show any symptoms of any kind of illness so I'm a bit lost and confused. Can it be an error from the physician? Once again any information will be greatly appreciated.

I imagine that Vietnam is similar to Philippines.  TB is very common and prevalent there.  A sputum test might be in order if they saw a "spot" on her lung.  Hopefully she passes the sputum test, which can take weeks.  If she fails that she will have to take medicine daily for up to six months before being cleared to leave the country.  But you would want her to get the treatment so she does not have a reappearance of TB later.  Good luck and God Bless you both. david

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if you are able to do more than one medical exam for a k1 visa?

for immigration you can only do the medical with list of drs USCIS states

and yes, after treatment,  reapply and do the new medical

TB is a reason for denial of this application

Did I miss something ready to thr end. I sounds like at this point the don't what the found. Not every they find is a problem. Are you trying to look at what your options might be if what the found is really a problem now? Sometimes they see something and when they do test it was just something that showed up. Maybe a shadow.

What's behind the asking of that question. Concerns? Second opinion? We'll try and address that when we know a little more. Thanks.

Hello Greenbaum, I hace the same question for you.I had my medical today, before going to the appointment a nurse asked me if I wanted to do the form DS-3025 with them and pay the vaccinations there or if I would rather do it in USA, I chose USA so the doctor didn’t check my vaccinations records, and even though I have the scar on my arm for the tuberculosis vaccination....  he said I had a little shadow on my lunge and I needed more tests, to knoe if it is TB and wait 8 weeks... I wonder if I can go for a second opinion with another authorized doctor from the embassy? I mean paying the medical again but with another of their doctors? Should it be a problem? Or is it maybe just wasting money?

About the vaccinations first. If you do them there in your country from the authorized medical center then you will receive the DS-3025 that will list your vaccinations with dates (good to have as you now have a record and your updated and in the event to travel internationally you will have to booster shots so this acts as a record for that occurrence) and that document can be included as evidence for your AOS package after marriage. Vac's are more expensive in the US and you will have to see a Civil Surgeon in the US to create the I-693 in lieu of the DS-3025. That cost is about $75 - 250 depending on the CS.

About the second opinion. The embassy will only use the medical results from their authorized medical exam facility. So you are wasting your time and money unless of course you think they are wrong and because it's your life you want that opinion. The medical facility is required to render the exams with state of the art equipment so I would say they are pretty much 99.99999% right.

Yeah, I want a second opinion with another doctor of their list. The embassy send us three options of doctors in Colombia, and why I was thinking on that? Because when I walked in at their facility and said no to their price of vaccinations( because I have all of them) and I was required to pay a total amount to get them again, before the doctor even checking my records. I noticed that  he was mad at the exam and the end he didn’t  give me my X-rays back...  so that’s why I want to do it again with other of their doctors. But since we are the ones taking the sealed package to the interview I was wondering if I could do them again or It has to be only with one doctor?

Also, finding a CS to sign off on the I-693 for vaccinations only (no new medical exam) can be difficult.

Will the DS-3025 if completed and marked so on this form, is there a need to visit a CS to have the DS-3025 transposed to the I-693 for purposes of the I-485 when it is submitted after marriage?

If the DS-3025 is completed and signed by a panel physician already, then no need to see a CS at all. The DS-3025 can be submitted on its own.

Thanks, that's what I have come to know and I advocate to others. But having said that there is an ongoing discussion over in the Philippines sum-forum and their are conflicts in the testimony, that was the reason for my question. Thanks for your answer.
