The endless glowing profiles of O’Rourke in every publication from Vanity Fair to Spin to Rolling Stone to Town & Country represent the national media’s worsening challenge in differentiating between what it wants to see happen and what is actually happening.

1.  Sure are a lot of "Beto" yard signs around.  More of Cruz are popping up, but they're being defaced and even pooped upon (happened in our own neighborhood).

Yes, but this link actually works.  The link in the OP was not hyperlinked hence the assist.

 

The one thing I thought about in the article is even though "Beto" is not Hispanic, the press alludes to it and seems to think it will lead to more Hispanics in politics.  Isn't Cruz an actual Hispanic, or does that not count for him since he is not a Democrat?

Yes and no -- recent Hispanic heritage (father), but born in Canada (therefore Canadian, and in fact less fit to be president than 0bama who was born in Africa), and neither Hispanic nor qualified for office because of party.  Accordingly, Beto is Hispanic, qualified, and necessary to elect.

Retraction:  Beto's father is on written record that he nicknamed his son "Beto" in case he ever wanted to run for political office in Texas.

I live in a fairly effluent area, and I see many Beto's signs in yards.  I think they are mostly people who came to Texas from California.

 

I don't see a democrat winning in Texas, we are still pretty red state and conservative.

I don't know, I believe he has a fairly good chance at betting 'lyin' Ted. The polls I suspect don't adequately gauge Beto's chances, probably underestimate the level of voter unhappiness with Lyin' Ted and the GOP white House.
