Green card timeframe

My husband got approved on June 23,2018 we entered the U.S on July 7,2018 and made green card fee payment on July 8,2018. I’ve seen that some people receive their green card within weeks of entering. I want to travel for the holidays but his visa will expire around that time. Anyone have an idea of how long it usually takes?

The endorsed immigrant visa acts as a green card for 1 year. He can use that instead of the physical green card that arrives in the mail.

7/27/20: Sent forms to Dallas lockbox, 7/30/20: Received by USCIS, 8/10 NOA1 electronic notification received, 8/1/ NOA1 hard copy received

9/25/17: sent forms to Chicago, 9/27/17: received by USCIS, 10/4/17: NOA1 electronic notification received, 10/10/17: NOA1 hard copy received. Social Security card being issued in married name (3rd attempt!)

10/14/17: Biometrics appointment notice received, 10/25/17: Biometrics

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

The visa he entered on (CR-1 or IR-1 based on your VJ profile) should have received a stamp when he entered the country. That visa with the stamp acts as a green card for 1 year.

Entered the US on Sept 22nd and the status says my physical Green card has been mailed to me yesterday.

Really? I had no idea and yes it was stamped as IR1 and I actually had my dates wrong we entered August 7,2018 and underneath that it has his A# and a date of August 6,2020 as well

I’ve seen people in states lile California and Texas seem to get them faster. I live in Maryland so I think that might have something to do with it.

A friend has some hardship paying the green card fee and is asking how long they can delay the payment? Her husband entered the US back in August.

yeah been waiting since entering June 2, 2018 paid my fees etc and still no card
