I am scheduled for the RoC interview, and the invitation letter specifically states to bring both passports, the current one and the expired one. The latter has my K-1 visa in it. It got expired in 2015 and I remember very well that I saved it and put it together with other documents. And now, I can't seem to find it... I was looking everywhere.

I have copies of all pages, including all border stamps and the K-1 visa. ll my travel history is saved in i-94, which I printed from the web-site.

Can they deny me on the grounds of lost original expired passport?

You have copies, the USCIS/DHS systems have all the information in it ... I do not know 100% ... but losing the expired passport seems to be a poor excuse to get denied.  Just be truthful and show them what you have.  Truth is most important. You lost it, then you lost it.
