Democrats’ Kavanaugh assassination is reuniting the right

It is interesting how this Democratic tactic has ignited the GOP and their supporters (strong and luke warm alike).  This is why McConnell needs to hold a vote, if Kavanaugh gets in the GOP looks like they are finally standing up to the dirty tactics of the Dems, and if he isn't confirmed, they can use it as an election issue.

I think the left totally miscalculated this one. I know democrats who hate Trump that told me they think Ford is a liar and Kavanaugh is innocent. I know people who have never voted in their lives who say they are going to go vote all Republican in the mid terms because they are sick of the leftist garbage. I didn't even support Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. Now I want to see him get the nomination if for no other reason to show the left their witch hunts don't work.

Your sentiments reflect what the majority in America feel right now, I suspect.  My farthest-left friend won’t even talk about Kavanaugh with me.

If someone hadn't heard any news for the last 2 years, and stopped to observe the post's in this forum for a few days, they would never ever guess that the Republicans won the 2016 election. The mentality of the party has yet to evolve from the sad sack whiners of 2008-2016.

Someone needs to tell the Republican party they won. It's time to stop acting like losers. It shouldn't be a surprise when the minority party uses rhetoric and obstruction. Those are the tools they have. We saw the Republicans do that for 8 years during the Obama presidency. The majority party shouldn't be whiners. They already have a majority. Get things done! If the Republicans are truly united they would just go vote the guy in. End of story. The Democrat's couldn't have done any of this by themselves.

I agree, the GOP wins elections, and they usually remain quiet and let the minority run things.  When a GOP politician crosses the aisle they are praised as bipartisan by the press, when a Democrat crosses the aisle, they are essentially labeled as traitors or completely ignored by the press.  It is almost like the GOP types think for some reason if they don’t fight back, or if they side with the Dems the leftist media will treat them better.  The GOP never learns, how well did the mainstream media treat McCain when he ran against Obama?  Hopefully, the GOP oliticians learn from Trump, maybe not use all of his tactics, but he is certainly not going to remain silent when attacked.

Rhetoric aside, the point is, if Kavanaugh doesn't get in, the first thing the Republicans should probably do is take a good long look in the mirror. It's not the media. It's not the liberals. The Republicans have 51 votes. All they need to do is stick together.

Probably best left for another topic, but at some point, we have to leave the media and leftist blaming behind, and maybe you have to start looking at people like Mitch McConnell and ask why things are not getting done.

Time will tell, but I agree, if Kavanaugh is denied  the nomination, the excitement brewing with the GOP base and those leaning their way will evaporate.  In fact I said earlier that they could spin a defeat of Kavanaugh as an election issue, I now take that back, if he isn’t confirmed the GOP is finished in the House and quite possibly the Senate.

So now we have had the FBI investigation the left wanted and big surprise nothing was found. Now the FBI investigation wasn't good enough. We all saw this coming last week.

It was a delaying tactic, there was at least one Dem who admitted as such.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Manchin and Collins is a YES. I can't wait for the wait tomorrow to see the final vote.

Wonder if Murkowski will change her vote so the Senator from Montana can enjoy his daughter’s wedding.

Yeah I know right. I was hearing something where people where saying it might be 50 to 49 if Danes does not vote. Danes has already said he ain't missing his daughter's wedding.

Here is another tired refrain, if you are not a democrat the implication is we are Nazis? Nice, you can't accept that anyone that doesn't follow the lead lemming democratic position is a racist, sexist POS. Live long and prosper my friend, just watch out for the cliff.
