Thanks for being 'nice'. Why are you even on this thread anyway if you are not filing for N400 this October (and looks like not for another year +)? Sorry that I don't read every single post every day but only ask people on a relevant thread where others are applying to the same thing when I do. Besides, when I searched the forums, nothing relevant enough popped up. And I am not necessary looking for opinions but if anyone has read it anywhere that it is not 5 yrs for us, because it says on the application and guides that they want 5 yrs. Why? I don't know. But it certainly doesn't say "except in case of marriage"....

I've been through this process before.  My previous spouse became naturalized through me, the US citizen.  So I have direct experience at this and my statement is based on real experience, not opinion.  We provided 3 years travel outside USA info and my then spouse received citizenship.  USCIS does not have separate forms to apply for citizenship based on 5 year rule vs 3 year rule.  It's the same form for both.  Hey, if it makes you feel more comfortable giving them 5 years info, then make yourself comfortable.

Finally filed online last week, Oct 17th. Just got my biometrics appointment for Nov 6th (Cincinnati office). The online estimate was 13 months but I'm hoping it'll be much quicker than that. Wishful thinking.

I got an email from USCIS on Saturday saying they'd scheduled my appointment. The letter showing the date didn't show up in the Documents tab online until this morning though.

I did my biometrics today (as scheduled) and time to case completion on myuscis has shortened from 13 to 11 months now.  Case status has changed from “biometrics was scheduled” to “case being actively reviewed”.

I got a mail about “action taken” - notification on myuscis that they've reviewed my biometrics - and annoyingly case completion has gone back to 12 months now (Oct 2019].  Sigh

Yup, I got given a glossy booklet (which I’ve already read haha), and the friendly lady who did the actual fingerprinting gave me a big smile and said “you’re going to be a citizen!!” Oakland ASC is awesome!! I was in and out in like 7 minutes!
