Please do K1  visa holders need to pay the $220 USCIS Immigrant Fee? And why?

Is there any particular airports in US that K1 visa holders are required to pass through?

What are the questions and things needed from a K1 visa holder at the airport?

Your response appreciated in advance....

No. The immigrant fee is for immigrants. A K-1 visa holder is not an immigrant. They have to go through AOS, in which the green card processing fee is wrapped into the I-485 costs.

Thank you. that at least answers the question and i learned (or rather, remembered, because i think i knew that lol) something.

A CR1 (as an example) must pay that fee to receive their SSN. K1 pays a AOS fee after marriage to get other documents and the SSN.

Technically, any immigrant visa holder can go to the SSA office with the I-551 endorsement below and apply for a SSN.

And many K-1s have been successful in obtaining SSNs before marriage (and AOS).

Yes each of your explanations is more precise then mine. I left out what you added. No one pays for a SSN. The CR1 fee is not for the SSN but the convenience of having it sent as part of the Green Card filing and processing. K1's still are required to appear in person to get a SSN with no fee. Their GC comes after filing the AOS package.

Thanks for the additional information

There us NO immigrant fee for K1. I believe the airport has to be an international airport with customs and immigration  and the immigration dept will take your K1 visa packet and may ask a few questions like what is the purpose of your trip for which you can just say you have come to get married. Immigration did not ask my fiance anything at all. They just handed him back his passport.  We entered through JFK in NY. It was a very quick and easy entry
