Hello,

My fiance and I mailed our paperwork in August. I got a paper receipt saying that have received our payment and paperwork, all my information on the receipt was correct and it mentioned that our case was "in process". When I search our case number online it only says "received" and to follow the instructions given on our receipt. I've triple checked the receipt and all it says is to call them and update my information if anything changes... I'm wondering if "received" online also means it is "in process" OR does it change to "in process" when it actually is in process?

USCIS will likely begin adjudicating K-1 petitions filed in August in Feb or March of 2019,  if they can maintain their current momentum.  Helpful hint:  if you create a timeline here on VJ, you will be able to see an estimated date range of when your case may be adjudicated, based on VJ member data.  Accuracy can vary, but our approval came 5 or 6 days before the estimated range.

Here is a link to others who have filed for k1 visa in the month of August

As for ur question. The information u see informs u that they have received ur petition. As @Jorgedig stated above. Expect to wait 5 to 7 months with few waiting even longer. That's if no rfe is needed. If u recieve a rfe it can add 14 to 60 days on average to the 5 to 7 month plus time frame.

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Hi,

I was just reading the what information it asks for and i'm actually the petitioner and it seems it is asking for information based on my beneficiary... Would it matter if I put his information there, as in the country immigrating from, his closest office, etc.?

Yes, that is what most people do. I am certainly not from Ukraine.
