What steps are necessary from a petitioner after a relationship break-up but the beneficiary had entered (and left) the US on the approved Fiancée visa?

My best friend petitioned for his fiancée on a K-1 Visa. The petition was approved and a Fiancée visa was issued in Bogota, Colombia. His fiancée arrived to the US and they both had intentions of marrying within 90 days of her arrival. However, the relationship went sour and they decided to amicable part ways and put an end to the relationship, therefore, they decided of not getting married. After 2 months of she being in the States, the (now ex-fiancée), voluntarily returned to her hometown Colombia. What does my friend need to do in order to "close the case"? Will his chances of petitioning later again for a new fiancée be hindered?

I believe the case is already closed as soon as the k1 visa was used. He doesn't have to do anything.

Thanks for your input. He's aware the visa is no longer since it was a 1 entry deal. He just don't want to leave things unresolved and that USCIS or Dept of State gives him issues for not informing them. Do you know if he will have any problems later on if he decides to petition again?

What I have heard is if you've petitioned only one other person then your 2nd k1 application is fine, although they might examine it a little more closely. If you've petitioned two people then you need a waiver.

By the way, sorry to hear your friend couldn't work it out with his Colombian fiance. It's not easy, especially when they first come to the USA. Differing expectations can really kill a relationship.
