Morocco Administrative Processing

After more than a year of submitting paperwork and waiting, my husband was told to come to his interview in May of 2018. He was approved, thankfully, and the worker there told him to wait 2 weeks for his passport to be returned to him. However, like with most people that I've been reading about on here, 2 weeks have gone by and still no word.

 

I know that there are more regulations and verifications when it comes to the administrative processing these days, but it is frustrating, nonetheless. It's now been more than 3 months - and still no word. The emails that are sent back in regards to our inquiries are vague, stating only that it can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months. 

I remember reading somewhere that if your medical examination results "expire" before you receive your visa, and before you enter the U.S., then you have to redo the exam and interview again. That, however, doesn't make sense, due to the fact that we have absolutely no control in this portion of the process. I'm just very confused and over-thinking everything. Is it because my husband lives in a country that is flagged for potential terrorist activity? From what I know, Morocco is pretty safe.

If anyone has any advice/input/experience, I will greatly appreciate it! Even if it takes 9 months, it will at least be helpful to know that this is not all for naught.

Morocco is flagged as high fraud for visas(whether tourist, K-1, spousal) so. AP can last a long long time depending on what all they find/look for, or perhaps he has a common name. Can cause delays.

morocco is a high fraud country.expect a long AP, and more than likely denial, which you can appeal .

 

how many times have you met? what proof do you have? any large age difference? religious difference? other red flags? all those come into play.

If the medical expired before you receive a visa, you need to re-do it again. However, I believe that you only need to submit the new medical report to the embassy. There is no need for another interview. Morocco is high fraud country. Even you said it doesn't make sense, but, it is how you need to do it.

Thank you, @Ben&Zian. That makes sense (about the fraud). Why is there a high chance of it being denied, however? If he was approved at the interview and doesn't have anything that looks out-of-place in his records, what other reason would they have?

 

@debbiedoo I don't think that there is anything that would cause red flags. We are only a few years apart, same religion. I've gone over several times already. We have talked every day for two years and can prove it. 

 

The CEAC page says that it is still in the administrative processing stage. It's interesting, however, because it was "updated" again on August 9th, but the status hasn't changed. I'm not sure what that means.

Whether or not it makes sense, that is a requirement of the INA. They cannot issue the visa without a valid medical exam still existing.

Administrative Processing can be lengthy.  Hopefully, your case will will show a CEAC status of "Issued" soon.  When you see that status, you will know it was officially approved.

Lengthy AP in Morocco is not unheard of. The fact that they kept his passport is a good sign. The Casablanca consulate moves very slowly, especially since they had several days off with during Ramadan and now were closed most of this past week again for Eid. Not much you can do but keep waiting at this point.

It has been 9 months for my wife's case in AP. August 9th was for everyone...  It is frustrating lengthy process.The problem is, overall there are not too many visas being issued in the last 5 months... We dont really know what's going at the US embassy in Casablanca.

morroco is a high fraud company and does not issue many visas.
