and I want to visit him

Like other users have mentioned it is an easy visa to get. Since only citizens of 17 countries can visit visa-free (and Kenyan citizens are eligible to apply for the visa upon arrival), most tourists go through this process.

Your Input Is Appreciated On This VJ Guide Proposal:

Yes, I've been researching for months. I just want to make sure that I put the right thing on my Visa application. Should I say visit my boyfriend or my friend? I know he is going to propose. I just feel it. If I say boyfriend they may think I'm not going to return back home. But, I will I have a life here. Thanks for your response.

Last time I heard, Americans are not lining up to immigrate in Nigeria and looking for all kinds of ways to do so, including illegally. Also, I don't know about Nigerian law but in many countries it's perfectly fine to enter on a tourist visa with intent to switch to some type of permanent residency. US immigration laws are unique in many ways and not always common sense. Also, many countries want foreigners to visit them and spend money there.

As an addition, in many countries bribery is the only way to go somewhere. I've heard that if you are getting a visa on arrival for Cambodia you're not going anywhere before you pay the officers some money under the table.

My fiancé is from Nigeria. I went in May. Getting the visa is not difficult. I think you’re over thinking it. There’s nothing special you need to put in the application. Just fill out the details as requested. The invitation letter just needs to say you are invited by whomever, your travel dates, where you’re staying, and who’s funding the trip.

The difficult part is that you have to go in person for biometrics. There are only 3 offices: Atlanta, DC, and I think LA. I was lucky in that they have a center here in Houston that takes the biometrics and sends to the Atlanta office. Otherwise I would have had to travel to one of the locations.

Hi...I'm very glad to hear about your trip & hope it went well....my question is how long after submitting visa application did you have to wait for biometrics appointment. I plan to go to Nigeria as well but not sure about how much time in advance I need to book flight & hotel. That need to submit for Visa, proof of flight & hotel.
