Hello All,

My wife's visa interview was on June 19, 2018. After the interview they asked for more documents under 221-g. We submitted the documents and only the online date was updated to Last Updated July 3rd and it was still saying READY. Now on  August 2nd, after almost a month, the status changed to ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING. How long should I expect next update.

The status READY means NVC had sent your case to the Consulate and it is ready for the interview.

Typically, it will be changed to Administrative processing after the interview.

However, it seems they did not review your missing documents until August 2nd, so the READY status did not change.

Now it is changed to AP which mean they begin reviewing your documents.

The waiting time for this status is vary, within weeks or months. Some people have to wait 3 months.

What you can do is waiting and calling or sending an email to the Consulate (not NVC) to ask about your case status every month.

Do not annoy them with calling and email everyday or week.

It seems that administrative processing goes on for a long time for Pakistan.  Hopefully for you it won't be too long.  God Bless, david

My wife's interview was on August 9 in ISL and CO informed her that she will get her passport with visa in 2 weeks, but still waiting...........

Any update on your case?

Did you check the case status? What does it say?

Your wife can send an email to the embassy to ask about her case. Successful interview will get the visa within 2 weeks.

If they need any documents they will send an email or call your wife.

CEAC case status says READY, I attached the screenshot. And when I sent embassy an email, below is their response. I believe its an auto reply, we are really confused what are the next steps be.

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for writing to our office.  Your immigrant visa case has been refused under INA Section 221(g) for administrative processing, an integral part of the visa adjudication and issuance process that can neither be expedited nor waived.  Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict the amount of time the processing will take and timing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case.  The visa application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete."
